What's new

Trump bars people from 7 countries entering the US

who cares, 12 countries ban Israeli citizens, jews or people who have visited Israel.

so yeah trump could certainly lengthen the list.

it is refreshing to see a politician keep his promises!

Who cares? Hmm. Good question. Well, it's not your country, so easy for you to say I guess.
But, I live here, and the First Amendment means something to me.

"Furthermore, Trump’s order unconstitutionally discriminates on the basis of religion. Under the 1st Amendment, the government may not favor one religion over others. Although Trump’s executive order does not expressly exclude Muslims, that is obviously its purpose and its effect as it bars entry to individuals from predominantly Muslim countries. It also instructs Homeland Security, after the 120-day period, to prioritize refugee claims “made by individuals on the basis of religious-based persecution, provided that the religion of the individual is a minority religion in the individual’s country of nationality.” (Emphasis mine.)

What does that mean? Trump told Christian Broadcast News that he intended to give priority to Christians. The Constitution does not allow such religious discrimination or permit the government to assume that a person is more likely to be dangerous because of his or her religion, national origin or race."

I live in Rhode Island. The other New England colonies called us "Rogue Island" because our founder, Roger Williams, established freedom of religion in this colony, pretty heretical to his Puritan and Pilgrim neighbors.

BTW, the immigration directive was the product of Steve Bannon, Chief Strategist, and Steve Miller. Trump refers to them as "my two Steve's". Bannon is now on the National Security Council, and is rapidly consolidating power unto himself. Do some research and you will discover he is becoming the most influential voice in Trump's ear. And, if one wonders why that business about favoring Christians is part of the immigration directive, well, that may be Trump's belief, but it's really all Steve Bannon. It's a long read, but here's a speech Bannon gave at a conference held at the Vatican in 2014 that explains better why Bannon wants Muslims out of America, and out of the West in general:

Steve Bannon, consolidating his power. Don't remember voting for Steve Bannon:-)

This is not a religious ban, nor does it discriminate based on religion. If it did, the 6 largest Muslim countries would probly be on it. These 7 countries came from a list approved by the Obama administration and Congress.

There's a reason Siro was wise enough to not call it a #muslimban like most of the media. You're smart enough that you should know better.

out of context, bro. Do you know the statistics on Christians being killed by ISIS cutthroats in Syria? With a group being targeted like that, and no terrorist sympathies in the group, of course we should expedit their flight to safety. But did you notice Trump did not say they wouldn't go through the same process? Yes even the Christians will be vetted.

If it were me, I would be looking for actual terrorists pretending to be Christian, for sure. So you're not doing any critical thinking about what you read?

Bannon has no power except his credibility with others based on his insights and skills of communication. If he were to start yammering tomorrow about, say, building some concentration camps or "re=education camps" for political opponents and journalists, he would be the first to be "re-educated".

I find all this garbage about Bannon being one of Hillary's "basket of deplorables" just laughable.

I also find Seinfeld laughable.

The only people who would be talking about Hilary's "basket of deplorables" in the last month would be ultra conservatives and the alt-right.

But really, in general, what the hell is your post about, man? You find Seinfeld laughable? Is there any significance to your point made by specifically mentioning the humor of Seinfeld?

Stop talking in code. You're familiar with the language the rest of us speak. So come down to our level and talk to us in our own language. Be brave.

nah, about 50% of Americans at least are in Hillary's "basket of deplorables" including a lot of democrats who just thought she's nuts and offensive to regular folks, and are proud to joke about being in her "basket". Start talking down to most people and you will alienate your supporters in fair numbers. Enough to lose an election.
Hillary is white, and she thinks she's great. Isn't that the meaning of white supremacist, maybe?

If you google Bannon you get a lot of "politics of personal destruction" material. I laugh at that. Why bother with Bannon? Left "Code" calls him nationalist, racist, white supremacist, etc etc etc.

Seinfeld was all about nothing. It was laughable, but about nothing. I have heard Bannon a few times, and his successor at Breitbart, Andrew Marlow. Pretty coherent and reasonable stuff. Think we ought to treat our vets as good as we treat immigrants, legal or illegal. If that's nationalism or white supremacist, Left "Code" is nonsense.

That's enough explanation I hope.

or sooner

Yup, she already got the ax. Guy named Boente, fed lawyer for the eastern VA district, is her replacement.

Also the W.H. just granted an exception to 872 people. They are people who had already cleared all the hurdles under the Obama admin and are considered "in transit".

I do not know what you define as kiss. We occupy there land with a army base that is in strategic interest to world security. Saudis do not threaten to bomb us or make land grabs.

They are also a major contributor to regional strife in the ME. Them and Iran.

Pull out completely with maybe the exceptions of Israel and Jordan.

Do you think obama didn't receive criticism? Lol
Thanks obabma!

He received criticism on the most stupid **** possible. People criticized his birth certificate and if he was a secret Muslim trying to bring down America from the inside. Or if he was a socialist. He didnt get criticized enough for being a continuation of George Bush w/ his degradation of rights/privacy and actions in the Middle East.

Fair enough. Probably right tbh.

Fair enough. Probably right tbh.

And we see an extension of that now.

It's political outrage. All these politicians and famous people are full of it. They are up there because it benefits them. Then there are average, everyday people who truly do care because they are the ones affected by it. To them this is real and the outrage is genuine IMO.

All this feels just like a dream or a TV show... it's quite amazing that it's actually happening, .. LOL ...

I had a recurring nightmare last night (the one I have every month or so) about me still being at Uni and stressing, and studying for exams... only to wake up and realized that I'm no longer at uni. It felt good waking up.

My wife has that exact same dream? Are you a woman and/or going through menopause?
