Can't Trump just dismantle the 'refugee' program all together (if he wanted to)? That's not discriminating, therefore it wouldn't be un-constitutional right?


I mean there is no requirement that a country has to take in refugees is there?

I suppose he could, but it would be hugely unpopular. Not sure his presidency would survive the fallout, both nationally and internationally.

A federal judge should not be able to overturn an Executive Order. Just seems foolish. Would make more sense to send that to the Supreme Court, imo.

Checks and balances. Keeps a president from doing something unconstitutional, or potentially unconstitutional.

Yeah but it's like building the wall would be hugely unpopular but he still got elected because of it. I feel like there is a silent majority who secretly wishes that America stays America and doesn't want all these Muslim/Middle Eastern people from these countries entering and ruining it, and if banning all refugees all together is what it takes they'd be all for it?

Then hopefully New Zealand follows suit and kicks out all Southeast Asians. I think the silent majority want New Zealand to remain New Zealand and will support it.

Oh, I'm sure there are plenty of white Americans who would prefer there were no people of color allowed in the country. It isn't a silent majority at all, or any kind of majority, though.

I didn't say to do away with the whole process, did I? There would still be checks and balances, I just feel at that high of a level, it should be on the SC justices to decide. Just makes more sense.

it has to go through the appeals process anyhow, to get to the Supreme Court - the Supreme Court generally does not have original jurisdiction unless Congress has made a specific law to that effect

it has nothing to do with color. but with culture, some cultures are toxic and backwards! they wanna keep that out.

sure there are some racist people. but the majority of people wanting people to stay out the country are people who will force their culture on others

Or smashing 3 busses an throwing large stones in to them cause a woman was sitting at the front of the bus? Or in Britain where the Jews kicked children out of school of there mother's dared drive them?
