Following potential 2017 draftees...

Speaking of monsters, Ojo of FSU is scary big and strong. Very good athlete as well, but probably lacks the skill to ever play in the league. But one of the most physically imposing humans I've ever seen.

If I was running a team like the Nets I'd take a flier on him.. Ojo has a lumbering way about him but defensively he's able to cover ground/stay infront of his man good enough where I think he's got a chance. He's completely unmovable on the glass, I'd imagine he'd be the strongest player in the league if he makes it.. but yeah easily one of the most imposing players I've ever seen, he looks like if Shaq took steroids in his mid-20's..

A real key is the improvement he's shown 80% ft's this year!!! He's also already 24 so he's definitely in the UDFA pool unless something drastic happens.

Chances are he won't develop into more than a 3rd C on the depth chart. There's several giants I'd take infront of him.

Viny Okuou's built like a young Shaq and is a good bit younger. Michael Fusek's 7'5" and can shoot 3's and dribble a bit, budding skill level.

He's athletic like James Harden, with similarly supreme hand-eye coordination. what you just posted is sort of like what people thought of Fultz when he was ranked in the 20's in HS not #1, those concerns are unfounded though. He's sorta like Jrue but a super rich mans version, Jrue was so much more raw offensively at this stage.

His 'saving grace' as a prospect if you will is the magic that goes on with the ball in his hands, I posted back when he was ranked lower in HS "This dude has the ball on a string". He doesn't have a blindingly quick 1st step but he's got a good one. The real magic is not his acceleration but its his ability to decelerate.. He's quite simply one of the best 6'4" guard you'll ever see at 'stopping on a dime', his ability to change speeds and directions is like water, if there's the slightest crack or seam in the defense he's gonna matriculate thru, and make it look almost effortless.. This is why there's Dwayne Wade comparisons(They're built similarly too)..

to me it's in the realm of amazing tho.. Fultz isn't just like very good, he's gonna be a gamechanger for some bad team... Like I said months back this years lottery is infact the "Markelle Fultz sweepstakes"
Great answer. Thanks man really appreciate it.

imo, Harden, in terms of the type of player he is, is the best comparison for Fultz. Fultz is the kind of player who could be top 5 in the league in scoring and assists. not saying that will happen, but he has the skillset to make it happen.

Harden, D'Angelo Russell, D Wade, Deron Jrue.. some fusion of those 5..

I do think Fultz preference is to get drafted to the C's #1. He's friends with Isaiah Thomas.

I know this has probably been discussed 100 times over in this thread, but to save some time could somebody just tell me if Ball's shooting will translate to the NBA?

I saw some recent highlights and seems to me he's shooting it diagonally (left to right), rather than straight up?

Yeah he's fine. He just needs space and with his handle feel for the game and athleticism it's not an issue, also he's confident shooting from deep range which helps.

J Kidd is the common comparison but Kidd got better with his shot as he aged. if Ball eventually loses a step or 2 in his 30's maybe his shot will get affected because it'll be easier for defenders to anticipate and close in on, but thats obviously not going to affect anyones decision to draft him now.

how about this piece of minutiae from the POR-DEN swap. The second sentence, after drafting 3 players in the first in 2016..

What a blunder it was from Texas Tech's coach to not get the ball to Zach Smith in the closing minute... He let Self and KU and Jackson's several missed Ft's off the hook..

Jacob Evans and Semi Ojeleye are going at it in the first half!! Great action so far.. These are teams that can take down higher seeds in the tourney.

4* Freshman 6'5" G Landry Shamet at Wichita St. looks good and like a pro.. He'll eventually surface on DX's Fr. rankings.

So. Markis MacDuffie's a pro prospect too.

Shamet's like a rich mans John Jenkins 1st rd pick in 2012, dead-eye shooter, but with much better CG/PG skills.

Already has offers from Rutgers, Penn, St. Johns, Iona, VCU, Seton Hall and picked one up from Va Tech today.

6' PG, who's long-armed and still growning. Definite player to keep an eye on. He's got a chance to be many of the things the Jazz hoped Trey Burke would be.

UCLA struggled in the 1st half, not Lonzo though another awesome showing from him.

Drew Eubanks hasn't been bad, they're way overmatched tho.. 4-win team.. this was a 26pt spread

Honestly Lonzo is probably the most "pro ready" player in this draft.

Not sure if this is a commonly held belief here, I doubt it, Ike (pronounced E-Kay)Anigbogu is in fact a jackpot scenario to fall to the Jazz. He projects as a titanically strong athletic C who can block shots dunk and rebound and there's plenty of time for him to develop his skill level, he'll be 18 at the draft. I'd probably take him over Bam, he's bigger 15 months younger and also has a nice degree of quickness and explosion..

I'd say he's the 2nd best prospect on UCLA just infront of Leaf

Anigbogu is probably the least productive good player in the draft. He's legit. In terms of size, strength and athleticism/explosiveness, i'm not sure he has any equal in the draft. But he's also legitimately good at basketball and has a very good bball IQ for a young kid. I wish he were more productive, but i'd be fine if the Jazz were to come out of the draft with him. plus, the lack of production probably has a lot to do with all of his talented teammates that require the ball. and just doesn't get minutes.

His defense was essential to the big comeback the other night vs Oregon. 26 blocks in 238 minutes is plenty productive.. He shoots 61% from the field..

He's much safer to take than Daniel Orton was I can assure you of that :p
