The Inevitability of Impeachment

I'm watching this Russian stuff with keen interest. True or not, it all raises serious questions and rocks the confidence people have in the system. I don't know whether or not I believe our institutions have the ability to self-correct with respect to the underlying causes of failing confidence. We've needed reform on a multitude of issues surrounding campaigns, elections, etc. for a long time.

I find it quite humorous that he is now using Clintons responses to this issue. "Oh! what he did isn't the problem! Its the leaks!"

lol

Would've been nice if the media held all of our presidents this accountable.
Do you think that the way trump treats the media has anything to do with how the media treats trump?

The media and Trump were openly hostile to each other from the start. They are both to blame IMO.
I kind of expect the media to act petty and childish. I hold the president to a bit of a higher standard than the media doe.

I am not a fan of the way he has handled himself. Seems overly petty and vindictive. Not good qualities.

But isn't the bolded a problem?

For me the media has long since stopped being news and started being political tools. I am always skeptical of anything they say at this point and try to verify it from multiple sources.

Should it make a difference? Idealist, of course, but I'd like to see a non-biased media treat every President the same. If they're going to avoid reporting things bc the president is a really nice guy/lady, that's absurd. If they're only going to report things because he's a prick, that's absurd.

If you expect them to act petty and childish, then why should we trust anything they say? You don't trust Trump bc he acts that way, so why trust the media?

Quote me where I say I have trust in the media.
You never answered my question btw. (Not surprised)

Sorry, I wasn't referring to you, just people in general. As in, why trust the media if they're going to act petty. It's unacceptable behavior.

I think how he treats them plays a role in it, of course. They're used to getting sucked up to, Trump isn't doing that. He's also acting like an ***, and they're treating him accordingly. Now as always, Fox will treat a Republican well, but not a Democrat, and CNN/MSNBC, etc, will be the opposite. That also plays a role. I also find that unacceptable.

The crux of what I'm saying, is that I wished the media treated every president with the accountability they are Trump. I don't see how that's a problematic statement.

I'll ignore the little dig you made at me for no particular reason.

It's a problematic statement because you assume that all presidents are the same. Trump gets called out more because he's simply the worst president ever, at least in living memory. He's the least qualified one, the least experienced on, the most combative one, the most vain one, and as this Russian affair might reveal, possibly the most corrupt one. Of course he gets called out more, what do you expect? Do you figure that the media should criticize all presidents the same amount?

Cousins has 19 technicals this year while Hayward has 0. You figure it's the refs not treating them the same or maybe Cousins just does more stupid **** that is punishable by a tech than Hayward does?

While some of this may be true parts of it are nothing more than your personal opinion.

I find faults with arguments like this as it implies it is either/or. I don't think it is.

I think that both sides are antagonistic and petty towards the other.

This x 2.

Partisan hackery is running amok while a dumb**** desecrates our crumbling institutions.
