Sacramento Kings Trade Rumors: Collison, Afflalo and McLemore

Poorly written article. Collision is an expiring? Then why would he be insurance in case Hill leaves?

Because you could sign him. Him spending a half year with Jazz staff would make him familiar with city/staff/teammates, would give you a better idea if you want him/he wants to stay long-term.

Nice attempt, but he isn't very good insurance at all.

umm, no. That's not the definition of "insurance." Now if he were going to be a RFA, that would be accurate. But he will be an UFA, so not insurance at all.

Players of his caliber (rentals) have historically been worth a 2nd round pick.

I do agree Jazz could pursue him if Hill doesn't re-sign. I wouldn't be comfortable with an Exum-Neto rotation.

Quin and DL have apparently soured on Mack and trade or not, I don't see him returning.

Cuz I don't.

You can add Patty Mills to that list too. I used to suggest signing him a while back..

If the Jazz draft a player like Jalen Brunson I wouldn't hesitate to let him and Exum try to hold down the starting spot at first. They can always trade for a vet if it goes awry. Brunson is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Y'all prefer Collison over going after Jeff Teague or Jrue Holiday??
No. Obviously those PG's are better. There could be a trade that would be better. Collision is down the list, but Utah isnt exactly the mecca for FA's, so DL may need to go to plan C or G.

Character issues. An occasional starter. A player who's game is based on speed who is getting old. And a player who will be a free agent...

And they call that 'insurance'?

Yeah, I would say no thanks. I prefer the Mack/Neto two headed puppy to Collisonballs...

The question comes down to is exum going to be ready for the grind that the playoffs offer or is he going to be abused by the other team.

Then again maybe the experience earned in a playoff series would be beneficial to his future growth.

It is a catch 22

A potential deep playoff run vs Dante's potential continued development
