2011 draft.....

Good players for the #12 pick (if available): Vesely, Montiejunas (sp?), Leonard, Mirotic, Biyombo, Jimmer

If Terrence Jones were there that would be a coup, but I'm sure he'll be gone. I'd take T. Jones at 6 if Williams, Irving, Barnes, Kanter and Knight are gone.

Bismarck sounds like he could be a mini Mutumbo :

DraftExpress (tweet): If ESPN had a camera at this scrimmage, Bismack Biyombo 's blocks and dunks would make up half of Sportcenter's Top-10 plays tonight.

Highlights of him below.

What position is he? He appears to be a PF to me, and about 6'8". But damn, he plays big. He looks like he has great hands and can palm the ball easily and thus go up, his arm extended very high, sort of like Duncan or Gasol, as he dunks.

He looks very agile as well, I think he could play PF no problem and could really be a dominant shot-blocker. His arms are freakishly long.

He measured out at 6'9'' with shoes, but has a 9'3'' standing reach. Also 243 lbs, 4.8% body fat.

There is no reason to be worried about that Bismarck kid's height. He's not just an elite athlete, he's rare. Just looking at the video, he would have wrecked college basketball. I'd be happy to teach him basketball for two years and draft him 6.

I guess the thing is that really, height hardly matters. It's the wingspan that creates the plays, except for vision. He definitely looks like a defensive contributor immediately and I think Ibaka is probably a decent comparison. Not a guy you'd mind having, especially at 12.

Bismarck is all over everyone's mock draft lists.
He is a mid second round pick on some.
Not sure he's worth the #12 pick.
Maybe late first or early second if Jazz got another pick somehow.

Looks like he'd play a Ben Wallace role. Yeah, a couple inches short, but makes up for it with timing, long arms, and being just plain fierce.

Perry Jones for 6 and this dude at 12. Jazz need to go for potential. If those 2 are available you have to take them, maybe trade down at 12 if they think he will go later on and get an extra first rounder and get a PG/SG or a shooter like Honeycutt

Going for potential never seems to work. Better to go with players that you know can just play.

-Went for potential in D-Will and that paid off. He wasn't the best guard for Illinois during that whole season
-Went for potential in Almond and Koufus but failed
-Went for potential in Maynor, would have been amazing if he wasnt traded
-Went for potential in Hayward and have had mixed results but most likely a good potential pick
-Tried to get favors/Cousins in draft and would have been potential picks

They have gone for potential more recently but Perry Jones has potential to be an all star with all the tools he has. Same with Kanter.

I dont see how Almond and Maynor where "potential" picks. One was a proven shooter, its obvious he wasnt going to be great, Utah just wanted him as a player who could hit outside shots. Maynor definitely has ZERO potential in terms of being anything better than a backup and we knew that when we took him.
