Getting Rid of Belly Fat

But they don't build a lot of muscle. Any exercise that you can do for 30 mins won't help you build muscle (or not much of it). For example. I remember reading some research comparing high rep to low rep exercises. After 6 months of high rep lifting, there was an increase of something like 3% in muscle mass. That compares to more than 10% for low rep until failure exercises.

But if maximizing muscle building is not your goal, then rowing is a great exercise.

I've heard a similar thing about cardio. That you get better results sprinting with a few breaks in between then you will jogging for an hour.

My understanding is that human beings are actually really efficient and have great stamina. We were built to cover long distances at a steady pace and actually burn less calories than you would think doing so. Maybe he's rowing but not actually pushing himself into a true cardio workout. Maybe he's spending too much time doing it at too slow a pace.

I instruct gym classes in my spare time. HIIT is where it's at, intensity produces results. But about 3/4 of it is good diet, protein and unprocessed carbs

It is the same from cardio. In fact, long easy cardio results in loss of muscle. Anything the body is used to and finds easy stops providing additional benefits.

Please. I get additional benefits from Cy's mom all the time, and she's easy as it gets.

We are coming out to Utah next week. I'm going to be heading this place up as soon as we get there:

You can't spot reduce. If you want to lose your belly fat you have to lose weight and build some muscle.

what he siad. some people first lose it in spot a then spot b
others spot c then a then b.

for me i lose weight in my face first for example!

Lots of good advice in here. I've learned the hard way, or at least frustrating way, that you can't outwork bad nutrition.

This might sound obvious to some people, but, in my conversations with others, I'm surprised by how many people don't arrive at this thought:

get in better shape by deciding what you want your body to be able to do. Setting a goal to look a certain way, or for your doctor to give you a pat on the back are weak goals by comparison. What do you want to be able to do? If your ambitious enough, have good form/fundamentals in whatever you're doing, and develop better nutrition, the outcomes will be good.

I wanna be able to bike with you on a consistent basis. From behind. For the view.

My biggest thing is not eating past 9 pm. My eating habits are pristine until after 9 pm then I just have cravings for all the terrible food in the world.

Mine used to be too.

Now I start heavy drinking by noon, having skipped breakfast, have one handful of cheetos to absorb the liquor, pass out and wake up around 6:30am to get the kids off to school.
Lost 20lbs and feel great!
