I'm just going to leave this right here. It's per 36 stats comparing Hill and Exum for the month of February.

Could force a trade and I'm not sure players care that much about winning and losing again we aren't the warriors. I live near Sacramento... I prefer it over Utah and it's not really close.

So u lose a few games NBD... I don't know that non-all stars worry about legacy.
This.
Trophies and championships don't buy lambo's, boats, and mansions.
Ca$h money homie

George Hill is a perfect match next to Ben Simmons. He'd also take a ton of pressure off of whatever Guard they draft.

PG - Hill, Fox*, Bayless
SG - Monk*, Stauskas/Covington, Luwawu
SF - Simmons, Gay/Covington, Anderson
PF - Saric, Gay, Holmes
C - Embiid, Okafor, Holmes

Given they pay Hill 30MM/yr and Rudy Gay 16MM/yr

That puts them at like $89MM....................................................

They wanted to pay Manu like 20MM this summer why would they blink twice about Hill for 30??

Disagree. Ben Simmons will be playing the point and they will be a transition team. Would GH leave just to be backup/insurance/play the 2?

If he is choosing between Utah and 4/100 and Sacramento at 4/132... you think he bypasses 32 M... if we were the warriors maybe but that is what we may be looking at.

Look at your current job... would you accept someone paying you 20% more and make your life an utter nightmare for the next 4 years?

Yeah but you're stuck playing for the Kings for the remainder of your career with no hope in hell in making the playoffs ever again vs playing with a fun team that's 3rd-4th in the West year in year out with a chance of winning a final Championship.

I don't know if he would want that to be his lasting legacy.

I'd do that for 32 million.

Yeah but the law of diminishing return sets in once you've already made you first $100 million....

32 million is never amount to scoff at. I'd take 32 million over playing for the Jazz and getting bounced in the second round in the playoffs every year.

Oh, and I get to live in California?

Yeah, not a hard choice.

Yeah but like I said there's diminishing return... when you're thirsty out in the desert the first cup of water is sweet, if you're given gallons of it then it can start to taste yuck.

Ok, using your same analogy, why would Hayward sign here over Boston?

I dont think playing for a crappy team for that kind of money means your life is a nightmare.
Playing basketball for over 30 million per year? Sounds like a dream come true really

This. I've left places I liked for more money to find out they weren't as cool as other places... I know this is different but I'd take the money... it doesn't snow in Sacramento and losing sucks but at least you get a longer summer.

Well I enjoy and prioritize winning.

Money is Fickle, whats the difference between $20mil and $30mil anyway (and dont say $10mil ffs)??? Its still more money than they ever dreamed of making! Why not be smart and put yourself in the best situation to win while making ridiculous money?

Just be smart with your money... some of these guys could drop $5mil a year gambling and another $5mil on just random crap... Is feeding some of your vices worth taking yourself out of a winning situation and going to play in Brooklyn or Sacramento?

Tim Duncan is the best example of this. Underpaid his entire career but I bet you he had a ball winning all those rings and being competitive in every game he every played.

Take the money hey. Do you know the % of professional athletes that are broke within 10 yrs of retirement regardless of how much they make??

If you bounce around the league chasing $$$ you'll inevitably end up with nothing of substance. If you sacrifice and give everything to achieve the ultimate, at the very least you'll always have a home and a fan base that loves and appreciates you, I think there is something to be said for that. This of course leads to networking and career opportunities after you retire.

no networking or career opportunites will net you 10 million dollars.

If you were smart with your money, you'd take the extra 10 million.

And you bring up Tim Duncan? Try again man. He made over 235 million during his career. That is good enough for fourth most money ever made in the NBA. Dude took less money his last contract or so because he'd already made more than anyone.

Yikes. Try again man. You argue two points here:

1 - you will end up broke within 10 years.

If that's the case, Hill would be smarter to take the money. Then, he'd end up broke in 12 years.

2 - If you win, you will be taken care of the rest of your life.

Again, how many championship rings end up on eBay and at pawn shops? Try again with that one.

George Hill has made 45 million dollars. That is great money. That isn't big time money. It isn't legacy money. 180 million? That is big time money.

Not only that the guys that go broke are guys that have crews and posses. Hill ain't that guy. The percentage that go broke is not high.
