What's new

Utah Jazz (38-24) @ Sacramento Kings (25-36) - NBATV 4 PM

Couple points...

1. That fast 5 second call against Kings that led to a Hayward 3 was a huge swing
2. Watch Hayward on the Gobert tip-in, he screened off his guy leaving the gap for Rudy

1. Wasn't fast. I rewound it and watched again. He tried to call timeout after 7 seconds. The refs gave him extra time.

You don't think games have a certain kind of cumulative quality to them? You don't think there's a FEELING to a winning or losing streak? You don't think there's some extra grit in a close game after you just got robbed in another close game?

Do you know what sport is?

What does grit have to do with ref's decisions? And FEELINGS? May be the players play harder but that hardly affects Refs decision making.

Do you think the refs watched OKC game or were notified that we were in the minus and needed some favourable calls?

In a way yes. They surely thought back to same exact scenario that occured here. Unreal shooting, Jazz fight back only to lose at the end. Players interviewed after games that are asked that question generally get flashbacks so to speak. It's pretty natural occurrence to recall like that I'd say.

Not in the heat of battle though. STAY IN THE MOMENT!

Tonight I uttered words I would have bet everything I own against a nickel that I'd never say in 10 lifetimes.......

"Man, I sure am glad Kosta Koufous just fouled out".....

Gotta say though, Doug Christie has a GREAT future as a colour commentator. He was very good tonight for the Kings.

Professional. Unbiased. Easy on the ears.

Bad teams usually have the best announcers. Hard to be an insufferable homer if your team has been awful for a decade.

You'd hope they would but they are human

I can guarantee you if any of them were thinking about the OKC game while still trying to win THIS game it means they weren't focused and we lose this game.

I mean the fatigue factor alone means your mind won't wander. When you are fatigued you rely primarily on instincts, experience and muscle memory, not much room for thinking let alone thinking of a game 3 days ago.

Man. That was the most excruciating game to watch.

Can we please have George Hill the PG back, whos this hero ball dude I saw tonight?

Shoots terrible all night, stops going to Rodney and decides its time to take over the offense. NP.

Hills lowlight real:
2 missed wide open 3's late in reg
Push off on WCS that should have cost us the game.
Missed FTs late in OT, are you kidding!
Airball the game winner... Geezus

**** me, I hope to see GH back in PG mode tomorrow and FACILITATING the guys we pay to make these plays.

THANK GOD FOR RUDY GOBERT!

Hayward was also great late, BIG shot and some smart assists.
Anytime we can win and Hill can decrease his value on the open market, I'm not going to complain.

No singular game can decrease someone's value, especially not a game in March. His value has already had a permanent boost from the totality of his regular season numbers. He really can't improve it too much or hurt it too much (outside of sustaining a terrible injury). The final evaluation of his value will be how he performs in the playoffs.

First, it was a 5 second violation. Duh. Did you guys see the replay vid with the ref counting it off? He counted all the way to five, then had to bring his hands up to his neck to do the throat slit thing which must be the international sign for 5-second violation, and that took .5-1s easy. Then you see the King's player start to call for timeout. The ref had already given the "you just got your throats cut, bithces" signal BEFORE they called for timeout. I mean, I could kind of see it if he hadn't made the definitive gesture indicating the violation, but he HAD, he had informed them that they were now bleeding out and would finally be put out of their terrible misery when Gobert puts a bullet through their brains as time expires in OT.

The funniest moment of the game was a few plays later when Harpring says that maybe the Jazz need another 5-second violation to give them a chance to win it. I highly doubt I've seen many games with multiple 5-second violations. I'd bet that get's called fewer than once out of every 50 games, but yeah, maybe the Jazz just need another 5-second violation called against the Kings so they can get back in it.

For those posters who like to overreact after one game, please go and check out the end of the Boston/Suns game. No way Hayward joins a team that dumb, and since Utah won on the same night as Boston loses, that must mean we are way better. Woo hoo!

Wish I would have watched that game to see the battle of the midget PG's.

Can't believe some of the bitches on this board - Hill had 1 turnover in 40 minutes and made the defensive play of the game with that steal on Lawson with 13 seconds left.

His shot was off...BFD...it happens. Jazz have won and lost 8-10 games this year as a direct result of whether or not Hill was playing.

He's 49/41% for the year. If I'm QS I tell him to keep shooting every night of the week.

IT turned the ball over with 4 seconds to give up the game winning 3. Pretty funny, as C's should have had a tie at the worst and maybe a win if they didn't give it up. Definition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

When you think your job is safe for another day, maybe two since you beat a playoff team.
