2011 draft.....

Biyombo might turn out to be a player, as might Jonas, Enes, and Donutholeus, but drafting any of them with the New Jersey pick would be one of the worst PR moves they could possibly make. A foreign player and Jimmer as the two lottery picks would possibly make me ask for a refund on my tickets.

So you hate foreigners and mormons? :)

Agree - the Jazz needs to go for more of a sure thing with the 5th or 6th pick. I say Knight if no Barnes.

Are we so sure that Knight is a sure thing? Dont get me wrong I think he will be a solid player, but pretty much anyone will be a little bit of a gamble at this point. As we know there have been #1 picks who have not panned out.

+1

No point guards with the first lottery pick, unless it's Irving - and even then I'm not sure about it.

Knight is not a home run at a position you don't need a home run. So why waste such a high pick on him?

I'd sooner take one of the Euros.

I think Knight is more of a sure thing than Biyombo at this point. He did well throughout the season and was clutch for Kentucky in the tournament. He can do what Hornacek did for us - starting at the 2 guard position and back up PG when Harris is out.

Dont get me wrong I am in favor of drafting one player to start contributing in season 1 and the other to draft someone with "ridiculous" upside.

P. Jones is returning to Baylor, and word is Barnes is returning as well. Given that the Jazz will most likely have another top 5 pick next year they could really come out smelling like roses as next years draft is going to be stacked. It looks like it could be 10-15 picks deep, and most likely the Jazz will get two of those picks as well.

Eh....I wouldn't be very happy with Knight starting at the 2. He's what, 6'3-6'4 and not strong enough to defend most of the 2 guards in the league or take them off the dribble, whereas at a PG he would be able to use his height to his advantage. Let's not forget that he's really only been playing PG for 2-3 years max. He still has a lot of improvement to do in the PG region, he's no-where near a completed version of himself.

Earlier somebody compared him to Russell Westbrook....I agree and disagree with that. Westbrook is waaaay more of an athletic freak than Knight is, Knight is a far better shooter. However Knight could definitely see a mass improvement in his game similar to what Westbrook did.

So word on the street is that the new CBA will likely force players to play two years in college. So not only is this draft going to be thin given the impending lockout, but next years draft could be just as thin if the incoming freshman class are unable to declare.

Was getting ready to say this. Next years draft may not be that great after all. Perhaps one of the reasons a few are staying in school. Teams that have not been scouting the intl players much better get started!

Definitely surprising about Jones. He has to sit out 5 games next year. He better have a great year or his stock will plummet.

If Irving, Williams, and Barnes are off the board (for whatever reason), I have a tough time making an argument for anybody else above Biyombo. I've got the fever.
