2016 NBA Season Notes/Info

Setting aside the SAS v GSW whimper today...

We have another GREAT match up to look forward to today, Wall & Beal vs Lillard & McCollum. Two of NBA's best young backcourts.

I really wish the NBA would just cut games down to 62 or something. I know they never will because of $$$, but it would make the NBA way better.

The best the fans could hope for is extending the season into July. No competing leagues then and it would eliminate the b2b garbage and 3 in 4 nights, etc.. I doubt the players would do it though since it cuts into the off-season.

We've had this discussion at length. I'm with you. Extending the season makes more sense than cutting number of games.

They are starting the season earlier next year and cutting pre-season games I believe.

They are. They should cut out the whole preseason.

With the rosters expanding to 17 next year they should consider doing a pre game 6 minute scrimmage for the bottom 7 guys on the roster.

I still cant believe the Wolves wasted a pick on Kris Dunn, who looks closer to Ronnie Price than a starting NBA PG, when they have Ricky Rubio who is a legitimate top defensive player at his position and basketball wizard. They'd be so much better with almost any other lotto pick.

That early leak out cherry picking action should work real well once they've got Ben Simmons back.

Tim really looks like an obvious plus athlete out there.

I hope he can lock down their starting SG spot for years to come.. Fultz would be insane on that team.. bring in 3'n'd players off the bench (and Okafor)

Fultz - Luwawu - Simmons - Saric - Embiid

I think I'm gonna change my "who'd I've have taken 12th" from Zubac back to Luwawu.

Vince Carter became the first 40 year old to lead his team in scoring in a game last night since Michael Jordan on the Wizards in 2003.

Just one more example of why you don't pass on teenage euros who are putting up numbers against grown men in those pro leagues over there.

He tested well as a youth player vs the likes of Harry Giles and Team USA too.. IDK how all those teams passed on him. Turns 20 next week.

He's so good tho this whats gonna happen;

3 year at like 3.5mil total or 3 even is his contract. In the summer of 2019 he's gonna just be like 22 and a half.. and on the market so he'll get at least starter $$ and recoup a lot of the lost draft $ on a 4-year timeframe..

Lakers might've been smart to try and stash him. He was smart to come to the states and play to get his rookie deal of of the way. They're gonna need to clear space for him.. Mozgov, Deng they've got another big ****ty contract that'll still be onthe books that year too.

A lot of good traditional bigs will fall in drafts for years to come because of how stacked center is becoming in the NBA.

This is pretty much why I have a hard time pegging John Collins in my top-20 at this point.

The flipside is ofc that non-traditional bigs will be reached for (Sabonis?)
