What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Goloman is definitely intriguing. He's long and skilled. Has a chance to be pretty good.

Not sure what to think of Anigbogu. In terms of size, strength and athleticism he reminds me of Webber at Michigan. Just wish he were more productive. For a guy with those tools and a good motor, he should do more.

Anigbogu's athletic profile might be greater than a young Favors. Certainly Ike is more powerful at the same stage.. That's a convo worth exploring here..

He's stronger at the same age, and if not more athletic, he's more explosive on the court than Favors, imo.

He might be longer too. I think they're about the same height. Anigbogu is one of those players that the camera almost doesn't do justice. U walked up to him in person u'd think it was Dwight howard

Look at the traps on him, just like Bam.

The hope for Goloman is some sort of poor mans Ante Zizic typa deal.. I believe in him tho. legit high upside 4-star player gem type. He keeps dunking like that and he'll be just fine.

This is just one of those untimely depth type of things that sucks for Bam, usually a prospect like that is at the top on the board for these meatball types..

This year he had Robert Williams and now Anigbogu go flying past him.. (and do it infront of his face and he couldn't stop it, and Williams did it twice)

These players are all superior to a lot of the similar body type players that have gone recently. I mean Onuaku isn;t a perfect example but he comes to mind for me last year, Ike's wayyyy better, way more athletic..

Good discussion going on here. I like it.

Ball didn't defend Fox well at all but to be fair nobody did.

Adebayo looked lost last night and got destroyed.

Anigbogu is the better prospect and is a likely lottery pick next year. I hope he comes out and we can steal him w/ one of our two picks.

Fox is on a mission and if he leads them to a championship you can contend he is in the conversation for a top-3 pick. Fastest point guard since John Wall?

Would u really take Bam over Geurschon Yabusele the 16th pick in last years draft?

Not the same positionally or skillset wise but still.. it's a good question..

Semi Ojeleye is a good comparison point too. all three fit the label of meatball

I'd take the frenchman over the other 2 easy. no-brainer.

Anigbogu vs Yabusele tho thats tricky. Ultimately Ike's talent and age win out probably. It's more of a new-age player vs an old one tho, Ike probably wins because shotblocking always at a premium.

I know it's just 1 game, but I now have grave concern about Ball's shooting consistency and his (in)ability to get his shots off in traffic.

With his shot mechanics he struggles shooting the ball going to his right. NBA defenders are going to take away his left. I worry about his ability to adjust. Changing your shot mechanics isn't easy.

Lonzo is not changing his shot mechanics, not anything drastic. It's not like he had a bad game against Norfolk State, it was Kentucky who plays a bunch of pros.

He got one off early in the game quickly the rest were mostly contested or forced. Malik Monk and Fox are very quick defensively. Hawkins is very underrated.

Admittedly, I've never seen the kid play but his stats, despite having a killer body and all this athleticism and explosiveness of which pgab speaks, have to be very concerning.

14.0 points per 40. Awful.
56.4% from floor. Meh.
53.5% from line. Awful.
12.4 rebounds per 40. Okay.
0.6 assists per 40. Awful.

All of that is underwhelming for me for a kid who is that great of a specimen and likely won't develop much more physically. I don't expect killer stats but he should stand out more in some way, especially considering the pace at which UCLA plays.

But that's thing he's gonna be playing pros every night in the NBA.

Isaac Hamiltons college career over after last nights loss. probably not gonna get drafted, he's got a future in the NBA tho. teams will take fliers on him.

He's not that good. He's got potential tho. James Banks 4-star Freshman for Texas who I mention often also 6'11 with a 7'6" wingspan has more upside for sure.

pro's that on an average night aren't going to be as quick as Fox and Monk..

He's gonna be fine. There's a case to be made for him as the most NBA ready prospect in the draft. He's super safe. He just doesn't matchup with De'Aaron Fox or John Wall or Russell Westbrook well.. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Schroder can give him some issues.

always gotta remember the concept of the big fish in a small pond.. some of these dudes like Lonzo aren't used to playing against someone who can blow by them like fox, **** just doesn't happen, ultimately u can't kill them for it, unless it's really glaring, and in this case it's not.

Okay, my take on Ball.

He's damn skilled. And he will be an elite pro player.

My beef with him in yesterday's game was, imo, lack of care.
His body language was very telling. He didn't truly want it.
I kept thinking he looked like a kid that daddy made to feel entitled.

That may not be fair.. but it was my takeaway.

What did you read into the Fultz tweet.

WTF did you guys watch? What exactly did Anigbogu show yesterday that makes you rank him higher than Adebayo? 0 pts, 2rbs, 0 ast, 1st, 0blks, 2 TO. What game did you watch? I didn't even notice him on the court. This wasn't close to a good game for Adebayo but he didn't spin out of control, he played within himself and when he saw things are not going well for him individually, he started distributing the ball from the post and got 5 assists out of it. Even Fox and Callipari said after the game that in other games they run things for Adebayo, for Monk, etc. but this time they decided to ride the hot hand(Fox).

Exactly. And in the game yesterday, he had 2 rebs in 15 minutes. Don't think he scored.

Well if were gonna be fair, someone ought to mention, and I don't wanna make excuses but it's worth exploring.. - well lemme ask u;

Its pgab overselling yet another prospect. Move on.
