What's new

2011 draft.....

If the Jazz can't grab Irving, Williams or Barnes (if he declares), Biyombo seems to be as good a pick as any. If Biyombo, Valanciunas and Brandon Knight are on the board when the Jazz pick (with Irving Barnes, Williams already selected), the decision might come down to who's easier to move (Big Al/Millsap or Harris). A frontline of Favors and Biyombo looks pretty damn sexy though.

The potential is amazing to think about. Both play great defense, both rebound, both are long, and both are athletic finishers. It will be interesting to see if Biyombo climbs/falls on the draft board after teams get a better look at him.

Neither of them can consistently make anything >15 feet away from the basket is the only problem I see with that duo.

Why do you need your bigs to score outside of 15 feet?

It would be nice to have at least one of them that can make a jump shot, otherwise they're both going to be clogging the lane and getting in the way of each other. Plus a high-low offense is a great one. And we've never had a forward that couldn't hit a mid-range shot. Malone, Marshall, Millsap, Boozer, etc....you've gotta think it plans into how the Jazz think. If we're going to be starting Favors and Bimoyinogo then one of them has to be able to hit a mid-range shot. I'm guessing they would expect Favors to develop a shot.

Why do you need to trade Millsap or Al if we get Smack? He can be the back up C and Millsap can be the back up PF. If Memos healthy, he can be brought along slowly to replace Memo as back up C.

It sure helps that Gasol, Garnett, and Amare can hit shots from that far away. I think it's fine to have one of your bigs, ALA Dwight Howard, not be able to hit a consistent outside shot but it's not smart to have 2 bigs on the floor with no outside game. I can't think of one good current team that starts 2 bigs, neither of which can hit an outside shot. Just won't work.

I think Favors will get a nice mid-range spot up shot canned. And Millsap is as great a shooting 4 as you'll find in the league.

Both Biyombo and Kanter would make our bench a lot better.

Big Al, and Favors should start. Biyombo or Kanter could come off the bench with Sap. Really good rotations imo. Biyombo could make
up for Sap's defensive shortcomings. Kanter and Sap is a little worrysome on defense, but a wonderful offensive punch off your bench.

If we stay at 6 then we should just get the best player out of these two. They are the most exciting prospects right now at 6 in this weak class.

Am I off base in thinking that Kemba is not coming to the SLC? KOC won't draft him due to his diminutive stature, shoot-first mentality and the fact is that the kid may prefer a more "urban" destination. Remember Marcus Williams (also from UConn)? See 1:05 of this Raptors Draft War Room video:
