What's new

I'll likely be coming out for playoffs

I honestly never would have guessed. What do you listen to then? Kid Cudi?

neo-soul, jazz, rap, fusion, funk, soul, dabble in some rock and blues. I really don't like Kid Cudi, along with most contemporary rap. I really enjoy Kendrick Lamar and Killer Mike (although Mike got started 17 years ago) in terms of newer gen. rappers.

Hey y'all--

I hate to pester, but it looks like I'll be having a car to rent for three days.

Given that I can basically go anywhere and everywhere in Utah, if y'all had three days to kill which hikes would you do? For a newcomer who's never done any of the hikes.

If I had three days and no reason to return to Salt Lake everyday, I would be in Moab and the surrounding areas (Arches, Canyonlands, Dead Horse Point).

It's basically between this or making a trip down to Bryce and Zion.

From googling this a little bit, it seems to be pretty contested between Arches/CL and Zion/Bryce.

reading more into this, and I think I'm getting sold on Moab. 4hr drive from SLC is also very much okay.

How desolate are these roads to these parks from SLC and can I speed on them or are there cops all over?

I'm thinking I'm 90% going to Moab, with a 10% likelihood of making it all the way down to Monument Valley just to check out the Navajo nation & meet the ppl

Beaver County is a speed trap. Only place I've ever had trouble. That said, I think the speed limit is now 70mph on city freeways and maybe 85mph in rural areas. So I think you can do 90mph and smile and wave at the cops as you go by.

Better drive and you can be certain that there won't be any snow.

I think there is a chance that there would be snow in zion in late april. (I could be wrong though)

This.
Most of the way you could do 90 and be ok. Maybe wait until you are an hour south of slc to do 90 and even before that point you can do 80.

Moab is great. Honestly though you won't regret either choice. If you go to Zion, go see Pkm, that's the only plus to Zion over moab. I'd say they are pretty equal.

You arriving on the 14th? I'm probably going to a DJ Quik show that night and might have an extra ticket if you wanted to go.
