Ok I think ultimately Hayward is going to opt out sign a 1 year Max and then take the mega deal the following summer.

What if this summer Boston called and offered either fultz (their pick from Brooklyn) jae Crawder and Avery Bradley for a SNT for Hayward and say hood and or favors?

What do they have to offer that would entice the jazz to give up the believed Hayward?

They would because that is the easiest way for them to sign him. I think they would be elligable to offer him the mega deal too.

Boston foundation

Thomas, smart, rozier
Hood
Hayward, brown
Favors,
Horford, olynyk, zeller

Jazz foundation

Fultz, exum
Bradley
Crowder, ingkes
Johnson, Lyles

I think DL is going to be incredibly active around the draft and try and trade for the 3rd cog of the wheel so that it is a no brainer for GH to stay. We have the assets and we have the cap space. He may not pull it off but I believe he will work it. Who doesn't want to play with Rudy and Gordon? Time to go on the offensive. And does anyone still believe George Hill is worth 20mil per year? I think his stock has dropped not only with us but around the league. Too much time injured and his second half of the season has been more indicative of who he is. He may wish he had taken the deal the Jazz offered before the deadline.

I agree I think DL will be focused on getting that 3rd guy we're missing. I don't think Hayward is going anywhere. The focus will be surrounding Gobert and Hayward with the correct pieces. One possibility I've been thinking about is Brook Lopez. What if the Jazz moved Favors + a pick or two for Brook? We move Brook to the PF spot. He can step out and knock down a shot all the way out to 3. He provides more offensive pop than Favs and can get us some buckets in the post when the offense stagnates. He would be a minor step back on defense but not by much. The Nets get a little younger with Favs and add picks that they need.

Before this season I was worried that even with our talented core we'd never reach a high enough ceiling to compete for a title. Now that the season has played out I think we have the pieces. Prior to the season Hayward and Gobert could probably be viewed as solid 3rd options on a contender. From what I've seen this year I'm comfortable slotting them both in that 2nd option tier. Do I think either of them could be a clear #1 on a championship team? I don't, but when you have 2 legitimate all-stars (1 probably right in his prime and 1 still improving) I think we can build that championship team around them.

If Hayward was definitely set on leaving I'd absolutely consider any deal like this. This team minus Hayward going into next year is probably a 7th or 8th seed and in the low 40's for wins. With Rudy starting to really take off, and also considering his competitive nature, it would suck to take a big step backwards in terms of winning right when he's turning into a star. If we have a content Hayward though who wants to be here I don't even consider a deal like this.

You would consider it? If he was dead set on leaving then it would be a no brainer that you would have to do.

The good news is that Hill has been around long enough to know that his stock as dropped. Just like the Sweet 16 / Final Four can make or break a college kid's future, Hill knows that the upcoming playoffs will determine his future. I expect we see the Hill back that was here at the beginning of the season.

This. We are getting Westbrook, signing Hayward, releasing Favors, trading Burks for Millsap an winning it all. Believe my bros.

The only way Hayward gets a mega deal next summer is by making All-NBA next season. With LeBron, Durant, Kawhi, Greek freak, Draymond, the Brow (not to mention Blake, PG, Butler), no way he takes that risk.

Silver just projected the cap to be 101m next year. Originally it was 108, then 103, now 101 so Hayward's max keeps shrinking.

My understanding was for him to make another all-star team.
