I am assuming that we both agree that inflicting suffering on humans is wrong. If we don't, then the conversation is a non-starter. But if we do agree, then your position on chickens makes no sense. If your morals are based on nothing but how you currently feel about things, then why would I care? Like I said, I'll note that moral arguments with you are pointless and move on. I agree with what you were saying about breasts. I'm not going to convince someone that breasts aren't attractive, because attraction is impulsive and utterly subjective. I don't get to make up the rules based on what I want and what I feel. We do. If society changes its morality and I don't change with it then I become a bad person.

I grew up in the country. When I was young and you had a litter of unwanted pups or batch of kittens you would literally put them in a burlap sack along with a rock and throw them in the river. Everybody did it and nobody thought twice about it. If someone were to be caught today doing this they would go federal prison.

This is probably kinder than the horrible ways feral cats are dying now due to humans wanting that itty-bitty kitty but not the grown cat. The feral cat population in America is a huge problem right now.

Cats were wanted on the old wooden ships. Mice are just everywhere. Then the cats that got Shanghaied would jump ship, well.... delicately walk down a plank to shore. Now cats are everywhere.

Feral cats should be protected against anyone trying to catch, neuter/spay, or kill them. There is massive cat genocide going on in cities all across America.

In more enlightened countries, they're at least used for food.

It should be against the law to imprison or contain a cat. Let them all run free. The little old ladies with blue hair will learn to run right over them in their cadillacs just the same as they do rabbits and armadillos.

Nature ensures a good gene pool if left to it's own patterns, which generally require some kind of really steep challenge to survival.

Cat should have the same rights as birds.
 
As a general rule, "virtue signaling" requires some social consensus about what virtue is.

I know, for example, that a country where half the people consider morals the prerogative of governments and the other half consider it the prerogative of churches, is bound to face civil wars.

They are an invasive species and are directly responsible for several species of birds going extinct and for spreading disease. They need to be dealt with. But only with the pet boom did they become a true problem because initially Everyone dealt with it the old fashioned way: gunny sack, rock, river. Now they just let them go or they leave and don't come back. It's actually the opposite, if you have a cat keep it indoors and keep track of it. But really don't get a cat.

In some countries in Latin America, feral dogs are a huge problem. For example, the major Peruvian tourist city Cusco is overrun with feral dogs. While I love dogs (their affinity to us humans is absolutely amazing), were I put in charge there, one of the first things I'd do is round up the feral dogs and either find homes for them (unlikely in most cases) or put them down. You simply cannot have a modern and progressive city deluged with thousands of feral dogs running around.

seriously i know what you are talking bout as me going from europe to south america a lot!

it is a real problem.

even pet dogs are let lose, to come and go as they please because inadequate fencing or just bad or no boundary training

Reports are coming out that Israel just bombed Syria, near/in Damascus.

No clue on how true that is but if so that has to really piss Syria and Russia off.

Them damn somes bitches ate all my rabbits babies I found em all dead in the morning all 12 of em. They kill all the squirrels I trap an bring to my property. Ain't hardly any quails here no more ever since these damn home builders started surrounding me with cat loving ASSHOLES.

I kill every feral cat I see on my land. If it has a tag on it I cut the paws off an mail them the owner. I got lucky rabbits feet they get feet of there family. I trap em at night in coon traps an put on inch thick leather gloves an strangle the little beasts.
 
US military just dropped the MOAB in Afghanistan.

MOAB is the largest non-nuclear bomb in the US arsenal. This was the first time it has ever been used in combat. It weighs 21,000 lbs., for context a tomahawk cruise missile weighs 1,000 lbs. The only way to drop the MOAB is out the back of a C-130.
