What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

Markis McDuffie has declared for the draft (no agent tho). He's 6'8" younger than most Fr, skilled and can dunk from the FT line.

I've said before he reminds me a bit of Harrison Barnes.

He's a pretty good shooter, pretty good passer, can put the ball on the floor, defensive potential.. He's got real upside well beyond Cleanthony Early..

The Jordan Brand Classic international game is on now. Awesome display of young talent worldwide, as always.

Big game is tonight at 8pm est on ESPN2

I like the international game the best tho.. I've mentioned a handful of these players here already.

N'Faly Dante is a 15 year old 7-footer from Mali. Remember the name. He's gonna be a pro I guarantee it.

1000

I might even go as far as saying he's the best prospect from Mali (over Cheick Diallo)

He plays HS ball in Alabama, HS class of 2021. Born in October of 2001.

There was a Brazilian player, 6'8" Bernardo Da Silva, in the JBC Global showcase game who goes to Wasatch Academy. #32 (top-right). My inquires about Wasatch players mostly go unanswered, gonna ask anyway; Has anyone seen him play?

LOL SEC haters are gonna be beyond sick when Kevin Knox commits to Mizzou. Thats the word, it's said his dad is in full control of his recruitment. The SEC ws going to be loaded next year on it's own accord, UK might not be as good but the rest of the field will certainly be way better.

It's said Duke put in a call to Jordan Tucker last night.. which could easily be interpreted on how they feel their chances are (dwindling) with Knox..

You won’t find Duke guard Frank Jackson on any mock draft boards projecting the 2017 NBA Draft.

Now, 2018 is a far different story. DraftExpress has Jackson as the No. 20 pick of the first round that year.

That doesn’t mean, however, that Jackson won’t be in the 2017 NBA Draft field.

Remember this!!! I'm really SHOCKED, capital letters, SHOCKED, that there isn't more people calling for Frank Jackson with the Warriors pick btw.. Lemme just put it this way if I was born and raised in Utah, and rooting for him as a 'hometown hero', I'd have made threads berrating people about this..

Where's the dude who used to argue with me about who's the best PG on the west coast - Frank Jackson or Lonzo Ball..Where is that dude?!? That convo took place here a long time ago, where are Franks supporters now -- what exactly did he do to lessen the hype??

how in the world did so many people here get swept up in MOB MENTALITY calling for the obviously flawed Trey Burke... and then the flawed Aaron Gordon in top-5...

Yet at pick 30, Frank Jackson, who's certainly not woefully flawed in any capacity, isn't being called for with the MEASLEY 30th pick..

**** starting fundraisers for rally churro's and morale boosting **** sorry, I gotta say that energy would be much better off focused on campaign to have the Jazz promise to pick frank in the 1st rd, that's something that's much more palpable to me.. to coerce him to enter the fray of this years draftpool...

this is a hometown hero story.. As I've mentioned before is it just a coincidence that Utah honed in on Bolomboy who played college ball in Utah? who really knows, just a few people and they're paid handsomely to keep quiet, we won't ever really know the answer for sure.

How's this slipped under so many noses here (I do realize that a lot of the people who frequent these threads aren't exactly born-n-raised in Utah..) my point remains tho..

Let it be knwn, I say the lack of Frank Jackson hype here, demonstrates a lack of capacity. What exactly did this kid do that convinced people he wasn't a lights out option with those picks??? (I COULDN'T TELL YA [OTHER THAN THAT PEOPLE JUST REPEAT, almost verbatim, WHAT THEY SEE ON DX]) I've mentioned before there's HEAVY parallels with his game and George Hill..

Dr. Jones if u could PM me any info on what happened to Jarred Vanderbilt in that Jordan game last night I'd appreciate it. I didn't catch the game, the international one is really the highlight of that Event, by-far, IMO.

This news has ruined my morning. I don't even wanna watch the replay now. Hopefully I'm just making a mountain out of a molehll and it's a twisted ankle they were just being careful with.

The ramifications of him having a serious foot/ankle injury at this point could be costly, *remains to be seen if there's any impact on real-on court value OR his perceived value tho, the ladder of which being the most likely that gets bandied about..

U know the black cloud that will follow it reads like this, 3 words "Nagging foot injuries"

Getting injured in a ****ing exhibition is such a dreadful thing, I hope that isn't what happened.

Yeah, I hate all-star games for this reason.
UK evaluated and he'll be fine.
Putting him in a boot only as precautionary.

PJ Dozier signed with an agent. Would not be surprised if we drafted him, fits the profile of a wing the Jazz like: long athletic wing who can handle and playmake.

Lawd knows we dont need 5 picks, heres to taking two and moving up in the first round

I am sure Pgab has brought him up before because he mentions 100 different players but why aren't we talking about Peter jok

38% from 3 on 7 attempts per game

Almost 6 free throws per at 91% clip

20 points a game and a senior

6-6 is a good measurement for an NBA 2 guard

I don't understand why he isn't getting talked about more?

He should have gone to Portsmouth

What the jazz needs out of this upcoming draft is simple: athleticism and hustle. Favors can't jump due to injuries. Lyles, Ingles, Joe, Mack and Diaw all play grandpa style of basketball with no leap in their game. It'd time to bring back Trevor Booker level of energy and intensity back to Quin's defense philosophy.

I agree. Let's go with upside this time. We have enough 'solid role players' type already.

Also picking late in the draft it's time to 'go big or go home'. We need to make the Spurs type picks now.

I wonder if with the 7th pick the Knicks will take a long hard look at LAURI MARKKANEN?

Pairing him with Porzingis could really be fun to watch. The only problem is can Porzingis play Center full time?

If Harry Giles is there at 24 he would be that type of pick. I have been watching a lot of duke games and he is still tentative off that left leg.

Give him a year behind favs to heal, learn and strengthen and he could be the steal of this draft but much as he could be the steal he could be the bust of the draft although drafting at 24 wouldnt be that much of a bust just his potential.

The problem with saying s spurs draft doesnt make sense. They are known for draft solid players late in the draft. Then adding free agents around them. So late in the first the Jazz need to say Gobert and Hayward are the franchise who can we put around them to make them better.

Josh Hart is completely a spurs type of pick. Doesnt do anyting great but is good at most things. He is a warrior and a competitor.

Bam Adebayo is a high ceiling pick. My concern with him is he doesnt have any game away from the basket and that isnt a great fit next to gobert

Justin Jackson is also a spurs type of fit because he is perfect for the system that the Jazz run. His mid range game is perfect and his 3 pt shooting is decent.

Rodions Kurucs is a solid pick that has the potential to be very good although he could be redundant to Hayward and not a compliment to hayward unless he can play the 2.

I like swanigan as a stretch 4 who can create space for gobert but I question his fit in utah considering his history and family here.

If the Jazz are completely sold on a player like Markanen a move up to get him would be amazing next to gobert. Gobert fixes a lot of his problems. If he slides at all on draft night he would be a great target. The question then becomes what do you give up to get him. Hood?
