good point, but this is game 7 coming after a huge momentum win with an experienced team. We are the babies in this scenario who stunk it up in a closeout game.

This feels like a recipe for a nasty blowout loss to me.

Idk, the offense just felt terrible with Neto in. IDK what the official numbers where, but it felt like we could barely score if Neto was out there.

I understand Exums issues because of the injury... Lyles is just baffling.

-10 but bench was all minuses except Favs who was in during the late run. The mistake was playing him 14 minutes... should have been 8-10.

If I was splitting up the blame pie... Hood Ingles Johnson get much more than Neto.

Gobert was -7 and favs +1. Look I'm not saying Neto was amazing... just think that Exum has little to no chance at giving us more than he did.

Exum would have picked up 12 fouls on bs Paul flops.

I feel like an interloper around here lately, gotten so cliquish, but that never stopped me before so here's my 2 cents: I think it's a crying shame to make that kind of epic comeback in the last minute forty to have it end like that. Everybody knows that Snyder is a brilliant coach but I don't think he thought out that last possession. Where was the screener? It didn't make any sense to clear out, particularly with less than ten ticks on the clock and now we have to have a three. How's Johnson supposed to get a three off with Jordan shadowing him on the three point line?That double screen out of bounds play Snyder used in game two would have made more sense in that situation. Anyway Hayward was the hot hand. I would have used Johnson as a decoy and run something for Hayward or Hill.

There's no question that the guys play more freely in LA than they do here so there's still a chance. Still can't say I'm not extremely disappointed that we let them off the hook.

Well that isnt scoring, it's just the net rating while he was out there. Our defense might have been stellar, but at some point you have to score the ball. When Hood/Ingles/Johnson arent scoring you have to find that 3rd source of bucket creation.

Sometimes your greatest strength is your greatest weakness. It's all 100% hindsight though. People would be screaming with delight if JJ nails that. There would be 100s of photoshopped Joe pictures. Instead of running a more involved play they went to their comfort place, which has been working for them. If Hayward holds the ball and gets a shot for himself, people would be screaming about not getting Johnson the ball. Hell I've heard people on this board say a contested JJ shot in the clutch is better than an open 3 from anyone on our team.

In hindsight the best strategic play would have been the quick 2 from Hayward, or someone going to the basket. If they provide help, then you kick it out for a 3. Play the foul game for at least 1 more possession and see if you can get lucky.
 
It's easy to sum this up by just saying "bad shooting night." But give them credit for short circuiting things we wanted to do offensively. They took us out of our rhythm.
 
Any updates on Rudy's status?

I expect a Jazz win Sunday. It took the Jazz shooting incredibly bad (41%,27%) and the Clippers shooting exceedingly well (49%,43%) for the Clippers to eek out a win. If the Clips have to rely on that disparity we are in great shape.

Neto made two brilliant defensive stops including chasing down Jordan and knocking the ball out of his hands on a sure dunk. Made a nice three when nobody else could. He got the ball into the interior - not his fault that the refs didn't blow the whistle when he got mugged in there. Everybody was tight as a **** tonight so no way I'm going to try to pin the loss on a guy that shot two for four in thirteen minutes with no tos. Did think that Hill should have gotten a few more looks tonight.

Absolutely right. I think there should have been a little more thought put into it instead of a simple clear out for Iso Joe to chuck up a last second three.
 
We were 7-26 from three and missed 11 free throws.

On top of all of that they got called for 4 more fouls.

This loss is on us. Snyder needs to adjust and switch it up. Try something different on Paul. I'm tired of seeing him do whatever the **** he wants on the court.

Quin didn't do a good job getting this team ready tonight. They were ahead early and then off kilter the rest of the game. He left Neto in too long, and it cost them more of a hole. He's overplayed Hayward and Gobert. They're tired and less effective.

I think part of the reason that they struggled was because of how he approached the game in the first place. Looking at it as a must win instead of getting his guys pumped up and excited to play a major playoff game in front of a home crowd. They were tight and it really hurt them against a desperate, veteran team that was fighting for their professional lives.

Que? Quin didnt do a good job of getting them ready but they were ahead early? People give way too much credit/blame to coaches in the playoffs. Yes, coaching is important but at teh end of the day the game is on the players.

And Hayward has to play a ton of minutes, no other wing player is doing anything.
