What's new

Game 3 Thread: 6:30 PM MT Time

I hope that losing this series 4-0 won't influence Hayward's decision to stay or leave the Jazz.

If he'd played to his max potential all series and that was the result, then maybe. Hayward still has a lot he can improve on also. This should drive him throughout the off season.

The Warriors just aren't going to be beatable for a while. It's a Warriors v. Cavs league right now.
Yep. And tbh (and I know I should never count lebron out) I don't think the Cavs have a chance.

I love lebron btw. Huge lebron fan

Hayward is gone

If he wants a ring his only shot is Boston

We win on money but that's it

He's already set for life and generations

Hayward is playing well in this series, he can't beat alone the Warriors! He is not getting help on offense in this series.

You guys are talking how Hayward wanna win a championship, but remember Hayward is nowhere near Durant yet he will get payed similar amount anywhere he goes. There is something called salary cap in this league. Hayward needs two players better than him in the same team to win a championship, which makes it 3 max players. Thats not a scenario to happen too easily. At least he can do what Lillard is doing; stay in his team, work hard, be a contender at some point, not get a ring but still be remembered.

If that is what he meant then he is right. The playoffs are anti climactic and pointless.
The finals on the other hand might be great. Or suck. We don't know yet

Are the Finals not part of the playoffs? If the NBA season was a storyline the regular season is the origin story, the initial rounds of the playoffs are the part where you meet the bad guy and find out his evil plan, and then the Finals are the final battle. Anti-climatic means the ending was not what it was built up to be, a let down at the end. If the Cavs/Warriors series sucks, then it would be anti-climatic. If it's amazing then the playoffs would be extremely climatic.

The problem is the part that is building up to the climax. That doesnt mean it's anti-climatic.

Hayward has been awesome all season and in this series too. Idk who is the leading scorers in this series for both teams but I wouldn't surprised if it was hayward.

Don't think they could afford that, could they?

Not sure. The Celtics have assets to make moves, but they're not well managed assets. The most impactful players in this draft are PGs and the Celtics' best player is a PG. Horford is getting older and they don't have any other compelling bigs. Jaylen Brown isn't setting the world on fire.

If they want to compete now, they should trade their pick and possibly Jaylen for an All Star, then attract a big FA. The question is whether that really pushes them past Lebron and the Cavs.

The fact that they haven't made a deal by now somewhat indicates that they don't think this does get them on par with the Cavs.

I disagree.
Finals are 7 games.
Playoffs total are like somewhere around 60 games. If only 7 out of 60 ish games matter then that's not good overall.

We will probably just agree to disagree on this one bro.

Where would we be right now if George Hill, Rodney Hood, Derrick Favors and Joe Ingles played up instead of down?

The Jazz will join the offseason with different question marks. Hood does not seem the player we thought he could be. Favors physical condition is a puzzle. Burks wasn't 100% all the season.

There is nothing to disagree or agree with. I'm right. It's not an opinion, it's a fact.

If the playoffs are a storyline, then the Finals are the end of the story. If the ending is great, then you can't call the story "anti-climatic". There is nothing to argue. Call the build up ****ty, but you can't call it anti-climatic until you've seen the end.

So walk through this...

The Celtics have IT, Horford, Hayward, re-sign Avery Bradley, and let's be generous and say they draft Josh Jackson.

Does Hayward sign up for that? Does that team make the ECF?

We have to get Favors involved in the offense to get him going.
