then thank you sir! I was wrong when they signed you to a max those years ago and I hope I'm wrong again with you staying but if not, thanks for the good years. I'm sure I'll get flamed for this post but I don't care. Dude's a human being like everyone else and he can choose where he wants to play and to that, Good luck with whatever you may choose.

On a side note, here's a depressing depth chart for us next year without signing anyone:

PG: Raul Neto, Dante Exum
SG: Rodney Hood, Alec Burks
SF: Joe Johnson
PF: Boris Diaw, Trey Lyles, Joel Bolomboy
C: Rudy Gobert, Derrick Favors

Who can't wait to watch this next year?

Remember when we were optimistic placing Boom Tho in the starting line up?

A. They have 2 first round picks. (And 2nd rounders as well. )
B. I Belive there is a minimum number of players you have to have on a team so that roster is impossible for next year.
C. That team still has gobert which I find awesome.

We are one Kawhi, Giannis, Gobert, etc. find in the draft from legit championships. And either way could go on to 5-10 years of competitive fun basketball with a good core of guys.

It'd be super lame if he left. He built all this and it's finally starting to pay off.

Hayward has been pretty incredible in the playoffs. A special player the way he set personal goals and nailed them and then some. Think I'll break my tradition and wear a Hayward jersey tomorrow at the game.

I agree. Unless he gets an offer he can't refuse, no reason for him leave. This is his team and I would think he'd want to see where he can take it. Remember, the reason Durant left OKC was because of Westbrook; Hayward has great chemistry with everyone here.

I was excited coming into this season, but I still had doubts what our championship path might be. Rudy and Hayward looking like borderline all-stars with a bunch of good potential guys and adding some solid vets. Now that this year is just about done we have (2) legitimate all-stars on the team (no longer budding) and especially Hayward has elevated his game on the biggest stage. Now going into this off-season I am very optimistic we have (2) solid foundation pieces that can be built in a true contender. I don't think we have that otherworldly superstar (Lebron, Kobe, Duncan, etc.), but I think the combination of Rudy and Hayward gives us that superstar. Then along with Quin, DL, and our commitment to building a solid team around defense I feel extremely confident heading into the future and I agree with Bawse that one more solid draft piece in the next few seasons and we could be right there.

BUT that's all contingent on keeping Gordon........ GOTTA FIND A WAY!

Hayward is NOT leaving.

I can't wait for him to re-sign in July and put all of this internet speculation to it's death.

It's quite simple. He has a superstar next to him in Gobert. He has a top coach. He has a young team around him that is already a 51 win team and a top defense and can only improve. The Jazz have stockpiled picks and kept cap space and can build a championship level team around he and Gobert. And finally, he can make more money with the Jazz than anywhere else. What team provides him better oppurtunities going forward? Moreover I truly believe he and his wife enjoy it here in Utah. I can't see him leaving.

What's an example of an offer he can't refuse? He'll have a max offer from anywhere, and the mega max from us. We can offer him more than anyone else with more years.

Do you mean like if the Warriors or Cavs cleared enough space to offer him the max?

I agree with your point, but what about endorsements, billboards, stardom? Utah is not the place even though I love SLC as a place to live and grow a family. Does Hayward want a safe haven, or does he want recognition?

We'll survive. I believe our best assets right now is the Dennis Lindsey & Quin Snyder duo. Heck we won 51 games when half the team is injured at one time or another.

They'll make it work and we'll survive.

There is zero chance of him leaving. He is not leaving a 51 win second round team where he has played his whole career especially with the Jazz on the upward trajectory. Next year the Jazz could be the 2nd best team in the West. It will be extremely difficult to get over the Warriors hump, but welcome to the NBA. Lebron is on his way to going to 7 straight Finals and if the Warriors stay together they probably go to 7 in a row too before it is all over.

Why move cross country and lose to Lebron each year when he can stay where he has built something and lose to the Warriors each year?

I think there is a chance of him leaving. I wouldn't bet on it, but here is a plausible scenario.

The Jazz can't get Hill to resign. He gets huge money elsewhere. We go back to Shelvin Mack as our starting PG(ugh). I don't think his ties to Brad Stevens is as big as deal as everyone makes it out to be, but if the Jazz lose pieces in free agency I think he ponders leaving for a team like Boston. Without Hill we won't do better and aren't any closer to a championship. He doesn't have to be the main guy in Boston(Thomas is). With the pieces Boston has, I think they are closer to contenders then the Jazz.

That's a pessimistic look, but I don't want it to be a complete shock to me if he leaves.

No scenarios about him leaving make any sense whatsoever from a basketball or financial standpoint. The only thing i could understand is if he just wants to live in a particular city. I'm not worries about him leaving at all.
