Following potential 2017 draftees...

Like I said before, always follow the money. He will make $2.4MM next season, do you think that pricepoint is so high that he can't possibly fulfill that very low expenditure (~2% of the cap)? and they should just cut ties with him a la Trey Burke and just accept whatever sunken cost return they can find??

And 1 follow up to that question; how do you think that would reflect upon Dennis Lindsey? -- Or is he absolved? and it's all Trey's fault.

Context; $101MM is the projected cap, divided by 17 players. Thats about $5.9MM per spot on average.

I'm not saying get rid of him for nothing next year. There is still a chance his offense will come back.

but we've seen his weaknesses and they are glaring. If you can't rebound or defend you won't get minutes if your shot isn't falling.

Best case scenario: offensive stretch big on your bench.

Wow, from this 6 second clip it looks like lyles is a decent defender. Quinn should have used him against Durrant and Green. :)

Sorry, I was struck by the irony of my reaction to this video. I flinch and say "Six seconds and one highlight is not enough to say Lyles is a good player." But inexplicably I will go watch a 2minute DX video on some prospect and fall in love with him.

We are all irrational.

just going off of DX current ranking this is who i would want

#24 Hartenstien - The chance to pair 2 7'ers together with one having the ability to stretch the floor and guard on the perimeter is just to much to pass on. regretfully he will not be ready next year so that is ok we still have favors. Hartenstein can also play back up center mintues. Dark horses (Pasecniks or Giles)

#30 Thomas Bryant is just to much to pass as a back up to Gobert. He is heavy footed but is a wonderful change of pace player to gobert. Dark Horese picks (Diallo)

#42 PJ Dozier His ability to potentially run the point guard at 6-6 is to much to pass at this point in the draft. His glaring weakness is consistent 3 pt shot. If he can develop everything else will transfer

#54 This is a great place to get a draft and stash player like Okouo or Kaba

Don't think you can invest both the 24 and 30 on bigs. With Burks now irrelevant, Hood not improving, Ingles and Hayward uncertain to return.

I think the wings are better then we think.

Hood is just inconsistent but he is a solid player.

Hayward will be back

Ingles will be back

Exum can play the 2 guard

Either way, wings are more important in the NBA. The Jazz need to roster more wings (and less points guards) in 2017-2018 season. He is right in saying we probably need to invest in wings this draft, and hopefully one of them with the 1st round pick.

For instance, in prior drafts Hartenstein's 4/5 ability might have been really valuable (because now 4/5 are viewed more strictly as just 5's), but now Ojeleye's 3/4 ability might be more valued. That and Hartenstein is overrated as **** because people think he can shoot when he actually cant shoot.

Bryan Antoine showed up to the UK visit decked out in good-guy gear?!?!

For those unfamiliar, he might be the closest thing to Markelle Fultz. More hops too. He's taller(6'5") and possibly still growing too. Has the ball on a string. (#1 in the below vid)

Scottie Lewis(#23) is a gem in his own right too. One of the most athletic players I've ever seen at the same stage a few years ago. He's supremely athletic.

Yeah.. they're high on Cats.

Question for you. If you had the following roster;

Green / Shai
Knox
Vanderbilt
PJ Washington
Gabriel
Richards
Bamba

Which player would you rather add.. Diallo or Cam Johnson?

I think our biggest need is getting someone who has the length and wheels to challenge Durant. We won't have much capspace unless we do major moves and it's gonna be tough finding someone who fitts that description anyways. I haven't taken any look at guys in this year's draft that could fit that bill in 2 years?!

I'm definitely coming around to Wes Mantooth in thinking that Ojeleye would be a very nice pick. He is really a player you could see hanging with GSW. He has the speed, athleticism, and shooting to be a 4 against the Warriors.

Also interesting, Ojeleye is going to be the highest rated prospect to take part in the 5-on-5 portion of the combine.

Maybe DJ Wilson. He's a fairly long and mobile 4. He'd force KD to try to drive.

I'm not sure about the speed, but he's the best 'strong wing' after OG. Along this thread, it's worth doing a post mortem on Stanley Johnson to figure out why he hasn't been a better player in the league so far.
