Following potential 2017 draftees...

I wouldn't feel comfortable taking Jeanne at 24 unless a handful of other guys are gone at that point. At 30? Sure, it's house money at that point.

Where did you read that? Prior to the combine Jeanne had been listed as 210 for the entire year.

That write up by NBAdraft.net says "Jeanne barely weighs 200 lbs"

That was written February of last year. He still barely weighs 200 lbs.

This post on a celtis forum references DX's page on him and at the time (January of last year) he weighed 195.

my list of players I like

tyler Dorsey - Every one needs a shooting specialist
Cam Oliver - I like his potential as a 3/4. If he could play the 3 full time his value would go through the roof.
Jonah Bolden - I like his combination of size and skill. Again if he could play the 3 full time
Josh Hart - Has the will power and desire to have a long career in the NBA. I see him as the spurs type of pick. Interesting I have wondered if he could play the PG in the Jazz system
PJ Dozier - I am a huge fan and he is one player i want on the Jazz
Semi Ojelye - With a name like Semi it is good he is built like a semi.
Caleb Swanigan - I love his inside out game. I just worry about his weight and that his type of player is disappearing in the NBA
Frank Jackson - who doesnt like a home town kid
Hamidou Diallo - He has the chance to be very good but also the chance to bust
Thomas Bryant - I love his ability but is he serious enough to realize it
Bam Adebayo - See swanigan except the weight. His type of player is vanishing
DJ Wilson - Is what the new PF in the NBA is lookign like.
Anjes Pasecniks - I love his size and mobility. Not to mention he can shoot. Awesome rudy back up but has more talent then a back up.
Harry Giles - Swing for the fences kind of pick
Jonathan Jeanne - I love his size and mobility. If he can be a full time PF in the league a front line of Rudy and Jeanne would be amazing

I like your picks and agree with many of them. You're just missing Kurucs. With Boden, I suppose he could play at the 3 a bit, but why? The Jazz have Hayward, Hood and maybe Ingles to do that. Bolden is an athletic PF with stretch range.

I honestly feel kurucs is not going to be around when the jazz draft. I am a big kurucs fan just not an option.

I am just saying if bolden could play the 3 then he is a first round lock. I like him though

I disagree on two counts. One, we've seen a zillion bigs who just can't put on weight. Secondly, we're too close to serious, deep playoff runs to take a project at 24. I'm not saying take a low ceiling guy at 24 but it should be someone who can hopefully seriously contribute this season. Semi, someone like that as an example. Jeanne could then be taken at 30.

I disagree about us being too close to deep playoff runs to take a project. I think we need to swing for the fences because we're so close. Sure, some of the guys we swing for the fences on won't work. But if we hit a homerun with just one of the guys we pick it could win us championships. I think we're one star piece away from winning championships. Our options to sign a big name in free agency are limited. So trades and the draft are we're going to need to rely on to find that guy. DL has put us in a position where we have multiple picks the next few years. I say swing away.

Lottery time tonight. Things I'm looking for:

1. Lakers get passed and dropped out of the top three and lose their pick to Philly. Bonus: they also lose their 2019 first round pick to Magic if this happens.
2. Lonzo Ball goes ballistic that LAL is out of the running and owns the newscycle with some more dumbass quotes.

I feel bad for whatever poor franchise that ends up with Ball. Its not like the fans can celebrate. They get to look forward to him flopping or showing promise and then forcing his way to the Lakers. The NBA is not very good to it's fans.

Lottery at 6:30, right in my drive home. I remember where I was on the highway and how angry I was when the Jazz fell the #5 in the Exum draft. Funny, I can't remember who went 1-4 ahead of him without thinking about it.

?

Ball has not said anything about forcing his way to LA. Lavar said he would like his son to play there, but I dont get the sense they care that much. They are going to get publicity wherever they go.

Mock Draft:

1. Boston - Fultz
2. LA - Ball
3. Philly - Jackson
4. Phoenix - Tatum
5. Sacramento - Fox
6. Orlando - Smith Jr
7. Minnesota - Isaac
8. New York - Frank N
9. Dallas - Markannen
10. Sacramento - J. Jackson
11. Charlotte - Monk
12. Detroit - Collins
13. Denver - Mitchell
14. Miami - OG
15. Portland - Giles
16. Chicago - Kennard
17. Milwaukee - Jeanne
18. Indiana - Leaf
19. Atlanta - Ike
20. Portland - Kurucs
21. OKC - Ferguson
22. Brooklyn - Diallo
23. Toronto - Collins
24. Utah - F. Jackson
25. Orlando - Hart
26. Portland - Bam
27. Brooklyn - Hartenstein
28. LAL - Rabb
29. San Antonio - Patton
30. Utah - Kuzma

Quick mock draft w/ little thought, so dont cry to me.

One major thought: There are so many ****ing bigs in the middle to late portions of the first round and a ton of teams who dont really need a big man. Will be interesting. I think a lot of names will get picked in the first round that people dont expect over seemingly better bigs because there are too many damn bigs.
