Following potential 2017 draftees...

No ****e? I'd swear that was my point...............

You can re-read them and see they are different. You phrased it was teams wanting these players so they overpay. I phrased it as teams not wanting the players so they pay to a certain amount just to **** over the team who has his RFA rights. They even put a 15% trade kicker into his contract just for lulz.

He said teams are also looking to **** Utah over.

Again, he phrased it as teams wanting to get these players. You can go back and re-read his exact words, they were all phrased around teams trying to poach players from the Jazz because we can't pay everyone.

I think it's more teams figuring out the exact ceiling to what teams want to pay, and offering that so they put team over the cap/over the LT.

Well, if a team offers a player a contract I'm pretty sure they want him. There is a possibility that a team doesn't match. If you think they do it solely on ****ing with a team and messing up their books you're dumb as ****.

Explain to me why that is dumb as ****? If Portland doesnt offer Crabbe that offer, then Portland gets Crabbe on a really fair price most likely. How does that benefit the Nets? Does it not potentially benefit them to hamstring another team? Could they not benefit from Portland being cap-strapped? Hell they could make a trade with Portland this draft to get on of their 3 picks partially due to the fact they helped put them deep into the LT. Brooklyn's biggest asset is cap-space, so it makes sense they **** everyone else over to help their cap-space have higher value on the market. Use your god damn brain. GM's definitely have gamesmanship.

You are acting like teams have to match offers. Use your brain dude. How does having Crabbe on that deal help Brooklyn at all if Portland decides not to match.

These GMs have more information than we do. They probably have a decent feel for what teams may or not match just through interacting with agents.

Worst case for Brooklyn if Portland doesnt match: They have Allen Crabbe and they are still a ****ty franchise waiting until the 2019-2020 season.

Lmao at anyone who thinks teams offer players just to **** with other teams. There is a chance that the other team doesn't match and you're stuck with a mediocre player with a bad contract .

Having Allen Crabbe puts a good dent into their cap-space. And he isn't a great player. There is plenty of risk involved.

Yeah there is risk. Just because risk exist doesnt mean it's not a possibility. The Nets have no RFA's to pay that they need to keep, so might as well **** everyone else over. The worst case is you have an over-paid Crabbe on a timeline of payment that interferes no way in your ability to do anything.

Explain to me the risk. Please.

Brooklyn has a ton of cap-space but no top FA wants to sign with them. They have no upcoming big time RFA they need to pay. They are in limbo until 2019-2020. Getting stuck with Crabbe in no way limits anything they have any possibility of doing. Use your small brain to think.

Yeah, you're right. Having $9M salary cap space instead of $27M doesn't interfere in any way. Dumb as ****. You just like to argue.

Cy admits that there is risk and then proceeds to ask me to explain the risk like there isn't any.

LMAO

Good lord

A team like the Jazz and Portland are trying to build long-term playoff teams and contenders. Their salary is very important to them. There is a lot of risk involved in bad contracts.

Brooklyn is a ****ty team who knows they are ****ty. They are just trying to get draft picks and change their culture until they can get back to having their picks (2019). Getting stuck with a bad contract is less of a risk to them the it would be for other teams.

I just want you to explain what value Brooklyn has in it's cap-space if they are in no position to make the playoffs or sign high impact UFA? If they cant do that, then their cap-space is less valuable as it pertains to signing players and more valuable as it pertains to driving up the price for other players, to hamstring other teams.
