Marc Stein: Miami just as big of threat as Boston for Hayward

This smells like Miami or agents tampering to stir up some movement.

However, could tax rules play a role here?

If you are getting taxed 30% in Utah or 0% in Florida, that's a meaningful reason to go to Florida. Plus, there are beaches. His wife would be tan I guess. But I think that he would lose... a lot. He would be restarting in a big way. Miami doesn't even have a core. Whiteside isn't Gobert IMHO. He is older, a good shot blocker, but a worse defender. The management can get good players, but they don't build teams like the Spurs. It's a trendy move, but Dennis Lindsey and Quin Snyder will lead this team to a decade of greatness. Just watch. Miami? You can't even sweat in Miami.

It's a sellout move if that's where he goes. It would indicate to me that $$$ means more than winning. That is fine for many players, but I can't see Gordon being there and losing 50 games next year and being happy.

No income tax is all well and good until you get caught up in the Miami lifestyle, cheat on the missus with some little hunny and she takes half your ****. haha

I'm starting to get a little nervous. Locke, who often seems to be the weather vane about what's going on behind the scenes, now is pushing very hard that utah is obviously the best place for hayward, but stating that we are at a "disadvantage". Man. If Hayward leaves it's going to be hard to care about the NBA for a while.

I agree. His podcast 2 days ago felt like he was
Greasing the skids he may leave

He highlighted 2 things that Locke said were legit that pissed Hayward off

1. Too much losing
2. His rfa contract year where they wouldn’t pay him. This is also the reason he is a ufa this summer instead of next. Jazz gambled and lost and I have a feeling are about to lose him

I'd like to recommend a 76ers podcast. They are called the Rights to Ricky Sanchez. They talk a lot about "the process". Basically they talked about after Iverson how their team was making the playoffs without a chance to win. They had middle of the road players and would make the playoffs without any real chance of winning. That is when Hinkie came and they began taking for real stars.

I personally dont want the Jazz to tank. But, by overvaluing Hayward and going all in now I feel it is very short sighted. Especially when we put off developing our youth to recycle vets to please Hayward.

If he leaves he doesnt want to be here. He if wont sign if Exum is the starter next year then let him walk.

One player should not put our franchise in limbo trying to impress him.

I LOVE miami.

Of course I have only been there in a tourist capicity but hot women, gym clubs and shops, great beaches and perfect temperature in the ocean, great weather, beautiful place.

I'm sure as rich person who could live in the best parts of Miami and do all the funnest things would absolutely love it.

I figure if I were super rich Miami would be right near the top of places I would want to live along with lake tahoe, grand cayman, and hawaii.

Great weather? No way.

Great weather is San Diego....where Gordon already owns a home and lives a good portion of the year.

I like San Diego weather too along with Miami weather. Little cold for swimming in the ocean in san Diego most of the year though. Ocean cold in Diego compared to miami.

Hayward thing aside, I'd take SD weather over Miami weather any month of the year. But that's me personally, as I don't care much about the temperature of the ocean.

the whole notion of the topic of this thread is an absolute joke. All you chickens like IJizz better start drinking hard sooth your jangled nerves.

San Diego is incredible, but I take Miami. Why?

- you can swim in the water
- the women are incredible and many beaches are topless. (cheap perk I know) * pun intended
- surrounding area has Key West, Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, etc.
- not many Californians
- Cuban food
