Donald Fires FBI Director who's investigating Russian Election Hacking

Thank God we live in a country that never attempts to meddle in other countries elections. Thank goodness our politicians only take money from American citizens. It makes perfect sense that we should go completely crazy when a country attempts to influence ours.

Anyone who thought Russia was not attempting to interfere was a fool. Of course they want to have an impact on our elections. The leap of logic, to me, is the idea that Trump colluded with them. Is there any evidence of that or is it just a matter of throwing things at the wall to see what sticks?

How many Trump insiders met with Russians and then lied about it?

Why hasn't Trump released his tax returns despite taking a heavy political price? What is he hiding?

Why does Russia support Trump? Why does Trump support Russia so much?

Why did Russian hacking and releasing of damaging material occur at the exact moments where Trump was hurting the most? Coincidence?

Why has Trump done EVERYTHING that a guilty person would do?

Why hasn't Trump shown ANY interest in getting to the bottom of Russia's attack on our election? Could it be because he already knows why?

Why has MI6 along with our own intelligence agencies investigating collusion? The mean liberal media again? Those MI6 and FBI agents, such snowflakes!

Why hasn't Trump released his tax returns despite taking a heavy political price?
The heavy political price Trump paid was winning the presidency? You may be right that such a price is too much to pay, but imagine the alternative. Our president would be Hillary. {shudder}

Two wrongs don't make a right bro

So we should punish people for meddling in our elections while we continue to meddle in theirs? The fact is this clown show is only going to motivate Russia to meddle even more. I guarantee you that they are enjoying this.

So I guess if some country starts dropping bombs in the US we'll just have to live with it. After all, we're doing the same thing right?

And yeah, I'm sure Putin is happy with the result. He a wanted to sow instability and mistrust in the US government and it is clear to me he succeeded in that endeavor to a large degree.

As to what separates the meddling in this election different from previous Russian attempts was put pretty well by former FBI agent Clint Watts in his testimony to congress a few months back.

“Which is, part of the reason active measures have worked in this U.S. election is because the Commander-in-Chief [Trump] has used Russian active measures at times, against his opponents,” Watts continued.

“He denies the intel from the United States about Russia. He claims that the election could be rigged. That was the number one theme pushed by RT, Sputnik News… all the way up until the election,” Watts continued. “He’s made claims of voter fraud, that President Obama’s not a citizen… So, part of the reason active measures works, and it does today in terms of Trump Tower being wiretapped, is because they parrot the same line.”

What's the significance of Pence hiring his own lawyer?

About the same as the left's attempted character assassination of Trump's lawyer. It would be cool if people came to the defense of both sides of these ridiculous witch hunts instead of defending their side while disappearing on the flip side. Siro @Omar @RIPNAOS seem to do a good job of this.

Can you provide a link? This excerpt is pretty convoluted on its own.

I think that external meddling in our elections is something we have to put up with. I have no doubt whatsoever that our political candidates are sometimes vastly influenced by foreign powers. It is well known that candidates from both major parties have taken large donations from foreign entities. But this year, probably largely because certain influential entities are not happy with the election result, we are being treated to an absolute circus of idiocy.

60 percent disapproval rating and is taking the entire legislative branch down with him.

What will he hope to pass for the last 2 years of his presidency?

While I see your point, I still think it is something that has to be contained as much as we can. I, like you, see the hypocrisy in this as we have been interfering in other countries' elections and governments for decades.

You believe his approval rating would be higher if he released his tax returns? I don't believe it would change a thing in a positive direction, even if it showed he was paying a higher rate than every other citizen of this country and that he was donating most of his money to orphans. If there is something negative on them, though, I'll bet it would turn into a complete **** show.

Seems like we are only trying to contain it now that we got a result that certain powerful entities don't like. Does anyone believe this sort of media frenzy would be going on if Clinton had won?

Ok repubs, I've been looking forward to a good argument. I need a break from the research I've been putting together this summer. Time for a break.

Lets suppose you're right, this is a witch hunt based on "the left's" attempt to smear the great 3 times married champion of traditional Christian values, Donald J Trump. So all the traditional boogey men from the left have combined in one sick and twisted orgy. George Soros, the Clintons, jews & catholics, scientists, feminists, gays, Stephen Colbert, Angela Merkel, latinos, blacks, muslims, NY Times/Wa Post, and of course, CNN. They've all combined to take down Trump. If/when they're exposed, doesn't that basically destroy all the credibility of "the left?" And why wouldn't he want to prosecutor to expose this?

Why wouldn't Donald J Trump want to expose these evil left-wing creatures asap? Instead, we see him impeding the investigation and destroying the prosecutor's credibility. If he were innocent, wouldn't he want to prove it so his administration could move on to bigger and better things?

If he truly believes that Flynn, Manafort, etc are all innocent, why wouldn't he want the investigation to exonerate them?

If he suspects that they're guilty and perhaps there was some collusion involved, why wouldn't he want the prosecutor to expose them? Why would he again, impede the investigation and dirty himself up? Nixon wasn't impeached for the watergate break in. He was impeached for impeding the investigation of the watergate break in.

Lastly, Trump has already admitted to obstruction of justice. He did so with Lester Holt. He wanted this investigation to "go away" because it was creating a "dark cloud" over his administration. That's obstruction of justice.

So let's create a short worksheet to help you repubs out:

1. Why doesn't Trump want the prosecutor to expose the "left wing witch hunt?"

2. If he's innocent, why is he impeding the investigation? Wouldn't he want this to be over asap?

3. If he suspects someone to have colluded with Russia, wouldn't he want that exposed asap without dirtying himself?

4. Didn't he already admit to obstruction of justice with Lester Holt?

5. Why is he blaming Rosenstein via twitter for investigating him? I don't understand. Isn't Robert Mueller the prosecutor?

It definitely would take away one of the strongest weapons that his critics have against him.

Trump made a HUGE error by turning the media against him during his campaign and beyond. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. So yeah, there would not be the media frenzy if Clinton had won because she didn't anger the media and cause them to want to hit back as a way of defending themselves. Plus Clinton wouldn't be giving them daily stories through Twitter like they get now.

Wrong. It would make no difference to the rabid attack dogs at all. You wouldn't behave one bit differently if his tax returns looked like Mother Theresa's than you are right now.

Interesting. So you believe that Trump is correct about the corruption of the media?

Completely disagree.

One of the main thrusts against him is that he has Russian financial ties. Releasing those tax forms would do much to dispel this perception in the public's eye imo.

Now answer my 5 questions listed above.

Ready go!

Interesting. So you believe that Trump is correct about the corruption of the media?
I absolutely do not. There are media sites that I do believe are horrible and damaging (Infowars, for example, although calling that media is stretching anyway), but as a whole I believe the media wants to do what they should be doing, which is informing the public. In our polarized times, the media has also sadly become polarized. However, I have no problem thinking that a news organization with different viewpoints than my own is still trying to do the best job that they can.

But what has gotten Trump in trouble is he has caused journalists throughout this country to dig deeper than they likely would have done had Trump not attacked them - just like any of us do when we are threatened.

I'm getting really sick of people not giving Trump the credit he deserves. This mess he is in is entirely of his own creation. There are myriad ways he could have handled the Russia investigation. He could have at any point made it a priority of his own administration to take steps to keep such interference from happening again. Instead, he attempted to repeal the sanctions we placed on Russia in response to the attack. His requests for loyalty and eventual firing of Comey and endless tweets about witch hunts aren't doing him any favors.
