Would he be worth signing this offseason? Or is he too much of a clone, of Cj Miles? I think he's a better scorer, but he doesn't do much more. Or would you rather, the Jazz try and continue developing Miles? Or Keep Miles and sign Young?

He will be overpriced relative to his contribution level. Remember there were many that thought he was a most improved player candidate.

God, the funny thing is Young's actually almost two years older than Smiles yet despite that "maturity" in his game, managed to average just 1.2 assists per game in six more minutes than Catch N Jack and his 1.7 dishes.

Well, everyone is clamoring for Jimmer how many assists is that chucker going to avg?

I think Washington opts not to resign him (for that same cause). Then they move forward with Crawford at the 2, and Lewis/Yi at the 3. Plus think about all the fighting on that team. Who is going to shoot? Wall, Young, or Crawford :)

You guys are crazy. I would love him on the Jazz. He may take a lot of shots but has shown he can make them. He can stroke it from deep like crazy. Not to mention he can drive really well, has a really nice mid range game and finishes with authority. The Miles comparison only works because he takes a lot of shots.

If you look into the stats he actually isn't quite of a chucker as CJ and was much more efficient.
Miles- total mins- 1968, shot 40% from the field while taking 899 shots and shot 32% from 3 while taking 339 shots
Young- total mins- 2033, shot 44% while taking 935 shots and shot 39% from 3 while taking 271 shots

So Young not only shot 4% better from from the field but 7% better from 3. He also took 68 fewer 3 pointers in 65 more minutes. if CJ was given the same amount of minutes, he would have passed him in field goal attempts and would have had even more 3 point attempts.

So Young>>>>>>>>>> Miles by a longshot. Young may not be a lock down defender but if the team defense improves and with Favors possibly defending the paint it won't be horrible.

Shooting 40% is absolutely terrible...I know he shot a good 3 percentage, but Young isn't that much of an improvement over Miles.

Passing, Nick Young grades out dead last amongst 2's in assists per 48. 41st of 41. The other numbers aren't much better. Rebounding (4.1) works out to 35 out of 41. Steals (1.1) 35 out of 41. Does better with blocks where he grades out 5th. The guy can score and that's not nothing. But he's about as one dimensional as a player can get.
