Play GM for the Jazz - What would you do?

There's no way Phoenix does that trade lol and your offer for Hill is laughable considering all the ******** you spewed for weeks when others proposed similar deals.

The FA PG market has dried up a little bit from where it was projected w/ both Brooklyn and Philly getting young PG;s as well as the cap falling 2 million.

And as I said this was a "best case" scenario.

As far as Phoenix. IDK. If Miami really has a great off-season and gets Blake Griffin, is their 1st round pick really that valuable? Phoenix could even put a lottery protection on it if they wanted. I don't think it's that outlandish given their expressed interest in Derrick Favors.

You said this past year. This new management "has potential" but their only move has been dumping the #2 pick from 2015 to dump a contract. Oh, and they drafted a loud mouth's son. They have failed so far in getting PG.

How many titles did Kupchak and Buss usher in to LA? And what has the new management done?

LA will screw it up. Just wait for it. Many steps ahead my friend. Look many steps ahead...

If they are smart, they dump Ingram to dump Deng to make sure they get Paul George. If he signs an extension in Boston, they traded Russell for nothing. Oh wait, Kyle Kuzma....

This is oh so similar to one conversation I had about a year ago. I said: "we should trade Gordon Hayward for the Nets pick" and I got roasted. I'm often wrong. However, when I'm right, its usually well before most see the writing on the wall.

They probably wont screw it up. PG is going to LA this year or next year and if they have cap-space, PG can probably entice another max FA to follow him.

And Kupchak/Buss Jr didnt do ****. Buss Sr was great with Kupchak, but after his death the son just ****ed everything up beyond belief. You can keep hoping they screw it up, but they won't (especially if you gift them two max slots). This isn't Phil Jackson going senile. They have a well respected GM and a sociable and charismatic figurehead in Magic Johnson. It's going to work.

If they have cap space.... Funny you should say that. I feel like having a discussion with someone who just wants to argue.

You know we are arguing based on your GM plan, which is to take Luol Deng off their hands, right? Or did you just completely forget the frame of reference for this entire conversation?

Its simple logic. Philly has everything they need to be very relevant in 2-3 years.

The Lakers failed. Even after the Mozgov and Deng signings, they lost patience. Kupchak was brilliant. His contracts were crap, but they were intentional. Those big contracts forced the youth to develop instead of rocking the boat with delusions of grandeure. They heard an agent story and pounced. They dumped a massive piece to the puzzle.

PG Lonzo
SG Russell
SF Ingram
PF Randle
C TBD
6th man Clarkson

Thats a contender only lacking a defensive rebounding center rotation. But they lost patience. Since they dumped Russell, they HAVE to get PG and dump Deng. Because instead of going the Philly or GS route, they went the get rich quick route. To dump Deng, they have to use Ingram. Once they do those deals, they have to pray a big fish joins them even if GS will still woop their ***. Lonzo, PG and old LBJ wont beat GS. Lonzo, Russell, Ingram, and Randle would have battled with Boston and Philly in 2021.

They played their hand too quickly. Had they waited 1 year, they would have still had a more developed Russell, easier to trade Mozgov and Deng because less years and then lured George. If they don't get George, oh well. No biggie because they have 5 young players at need positions.

Now do you see?

You are derailing your own thread. Why are you so obsessed with the Lakers?

Lost the argument then you change the subject. Pretty piss poor buddy.

I'm obsessed with the Lakers because I want Ingram. They have to deal him to get PG, and I want to pounce.

I want to win titles. I want to be the Celtics and use assets to manipulate others who are in disarray. We have $14 million in cap that expires in less than a week. It is a massive asset. We have to pounce. If we lose Ingles because we use the space to get a first rounder in 2019 that might be franchise shifting, then do it.

We were arguing about how bad your plan is to assist the Lakers in clearing cap-space then you switched it to reviewing the Lakers decisions for the past two years, which I dont care about discussing with you.

Really. Then what you been doing? If you want, we can discuss how badly Chicago wants Alec Burks.

1) Offer Favors, Diaw & 1st-round pick for Paul George and Kevin Seraphin
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y9acwcc8

2) Offer Hayward his choice of a 5-year max or 2+1 max contract so he can pursue the designated player exception

3) Sign Teodosic for 3 years / $29M

4) Try to match Joe Ingles in restricted FA

If it works...

Gobert / Seraphin / Bradley
Johnson / Bolomboy / ??
Hayward / Ingles / ??
George / Hood / Mitchell
Teodosic / Exum / Neto

Utah an Westbrook should both be put in straight jackets if Jazz do not acquire him for Bolomboy, Donovan, Hill, Favors, Exum, Hood an every unprotected pick Utah can offer.

OKC would be more even mental.
