Chris Paul to the Rockets - Beverly is off the table

West is all super teams makes it easier to go east. Maybe though...

Possible, but we don't really know how any of those new 'superteams' will mesh. In any case I think this is a relatively minor + compared to the negative of not getting to pair up with another star(when it was on the table previously).

You're right! I used to see the Jazz from 2003-2005 in L.A. for $30 for two mid-level tickets. I'm hoping for this again. And hope they hurry up with the damn metro so I can take it to the games.

we should go to a game together next time sir!

Seems like Houston is trading money for a bunch of low contracts to include in the CP3 deal to make contracts work. So far they have gotten Tim Quarterman and DeANdre Liggins.

IT commented on some Griffin social media post. If this does make BG more gettablenfor then that makes things easier for us I guess.

The NBA is drunk.

Think they are using their 3M in cap space to get the salaries then the salaries count as more in the trade than just pure cap space. I think they end up putting Harrell in the deal too.

Golden State is still the only super team in the West. San Antonio has Kawhi/LMA, Houston has CP3/Harden, Minnesota has Butler/KAT, Clippers are getting ravaged. Jazz have Gobert/Hayward (if he comes back.)

Nobody has Curry/Durant/Thompson/Green.

In the East, Cleveland has James/Love/Irving, but are hard pressed to upgrade anywhere else. Boston has IT/Harford and a bunch of assets. I'm not buying their "super team" potential. Golden State and Cleveland are still the top two teams to beat, and options to close the gaps are limited. Both those teams are going to struggle with repeater tax issues in the next few years. Can't keep them together too long - especially when max contracts start coming due.

Houston also gave up a pick in the deal for Paul. If they really are trying to trade for PG, doesn't seem very helpful to Houston to give up that pick.

They will be able to aggregate salaries to get CP3... then you can trade gordon capela Harrell and 2020 first and 2022 first or flip ariza or gordon for a pick to give to Indiana.

This is crazy.

Ariza and CP3 are close so I think he stays in Houston.

Would you take Eric gordon for the OKC pick?

I don't think Boris is an asset. But he's a huge contract(compared to the others they are acquiring) that can be waived.

They have to get smaller deals or else they can't be aggregated. They are trading space for these guys which makes it possible. Only need 1.6 or so more and have the space to absorb.

This thread is ****ing hilarious. Cy acting like it was a plausible trade and we didn't understand the CBA. Now he is reporting they are trading for contracts to throw in the deal. Pure gold.
