What's new

Why Lindsey should do NOTHING until July 1st

If we retain Hill, Hayward and Ingles and everyone on the team plays at least 70 games and is healthier (Hill, Favors, Hood) and we see big improvement from Exum as well as small to decent improvement from a couple other guys, could we win 65 games? What's our max? I'd say 62 games.
Which is just insane. Only a few years ago we had no idea what this team was really going to be. The Warriors have warped what is great in this league. I'd say any one of us in 2015 that our group of dudes would turn into a potential 60 win team we'd all died on the floor from excitement.

Not lopo.
He would have said, "meh not good enough. Free meal at dennys"

GS fans werent saying "we are going to be so good next year and we didnt do xyz because of Curry's injuries." He was injury prone but they didnt have expectations at that time.

We have fans who blame injuries year after year after year for the reason why we arent in the playoffs or to the next round, etc.

Enough already.

Remember all of our awesome young players from years ago?

I used to poor over this cap ****.

"How can we pay Hayward Burks, Burke, Kanter and Exum years down the road?!"

None of them except Hayward mattered and we paid Rudy who I didn't even consider. Don't let good players walk out the door because of things in the future. It will work itself out.

Yeah I always maintained if they all needed to be paid we would figure it out... would be a great problem to have.

GS looks like they will own the league for the next few years, but who the hell knows what will happen... they are rumored to not be willing to eat the luxury tax for Iggy now... KD has had foot problems... Steph has had issues... Draymond could get fat and lazy... Klay could blow his achilles trying to do a 360 dunk in China.

**** happens... we should be ready if it does.

Run. It. Back.

Does anybody else have a problem with our off-season just being resigning Ingles, Hayward and Hill? Do we really think thats the answer?

So the 2017/18 Jazz will be the 2016/17 Jazz but replacing Mack and Diaw with Mitchell and Bradley.

Then think about the 2018/19 Jazz without 2 of Joe J, Favors, Exum and Hood.

I'm extremely unsatisfied with this off-season if that is the plan. That is why the cap space is so important in my opinion. We have to be bold or plan for the world when GS might have to break up (2019). Treading water will do nothing for us.

How do u know DL isn't trying? U don't.
I will stop "spewing" when crybabies like you will stop blaming injuries for everything. You are a bonafide dumb *** if you think Favors, Hood, Hill and others will just remarkably stay perfectly healthy as they age. And also consider guys like Hayward and Gobert who are rarely hurt but bad things can happen.

You are a bigger dumb *** if you think a fully healthy "Baller" team like ours would win more than a game off the Warriors in a 7 game series.

I dont think you are a dumb ***. I just think you are either naive or buying into the "what might be if..." hype.

Going into the luxury when the team isn't a title contender or future title contender is just plain dumb. The only way we contend with our current roster is if Tony Bradley is Al Horford and Mitchell is phenomenal.

Give us a good reason to spend a ton of money? A few things.

1. We don't have the assets to get a star.

2. What's out there besides stars that will move the needle enough to help against the GSW. ONLY LBJ's super team managed a single win vs the W's

3. How do u know DL isn't trying. He's probably looking for trades that move the needle, and they either aren't out there or the other team is asking us for too much. These moves most likely aren't out there for the jazz. It would be nice if significant trades grew on trees. Come back to reality.
Did I say quit? Signing Ingles and Hill are solid moves, but I want to dream title not conference finals. If we would have been aggressive with Stockton and Malone, we would have a banner. The same with Deron's group maybe. We are almost always risk averse.

Example - Teo at $10 is better than Hill at $25. No brainer really. Because we get to keep Exum or Favors or Hood next summer.

Remember - the goal being Ingles and Hill means we waste the cap room we should use by Friday. We are wasting an asset.

Just my opinion. If we don't gain an asset using our cap space, its just plain dumb.

What's out there that's better then Hill and Ingles that we can realistically require?
Injuries are part of the game. Injuries to the same player over and over shouldn't be an excuse, it should be an expectation.

I said pursue Porzingis after he skipped his interview. I said it probably won't happen but worth a shot. I got bashed for even thinking it. A month later, NY entertained ideas for KP. They even fired their Pres because of the dysfunction. It was worth to every team to try. You never knew with Phil.

I'm going to propose ideas because you never know. You never know if Denver is gonna call you out the blue to give you a player.

Let me remind u that no one traded for Porz.

I guess I'd be that miserable if I too lived in Alabama.
Lol. Okay. I've lived in Wyoming and spent time in Utah. Nice places. And if you get a chance to come to Alabama, you can see why its a great place too. There is a lot to love about almost any place.

If you just want to be ignorant and take a shot at a place, then be ignorant. Alabama is amazing. If you want to learn more, ask. If you dont know what you are talking about then dont talk.

I never said he isnt trying. I said it is a missed opportunity to let this money go to waste.

Even a minor deal picking up another 1st rounder (even if lottery protected) would be a good deal.

Its funny how I simply state that the 2016/17 team minus Diaw and Mack for Mitchell and Bradley doesn't blow me away and people wet the bed.

People simply do not look ahead. We are set for a big run this year to hopefully try at the West Finals. Thats very optimistic. And there is a degree of excitement to that. But we lose so much the next year. You have to look ahead.
