Rubio traded to Jazz

I'd rather have Rubio and Ingles than just Hill. It's much easier to match on Ingles without paying $20,000,000+ to Hill. And I'm going to assume Hayward realizes that.

I like the deal. I'd expect we still wind up moving somebody else to clear some salary and possible glut at the guard positions (Rubio/Hood/Burks/Mitchell/Exum/Neto all currently under contract).

I'm not the biggest fan of DL but this is a no brainer. The OKC pick was worthless and worst case scenario, Rubio starts and makes Gobert look great. Best case, he comes off the bench.

No brainer move.

Man, if the Jazz lose Hayward I hate having Rubio. Who on this team is going to ****ing score? The prospect of the Jazz scoring without Hayward is just mind boggling. Maybe it all works out even if they lose Hayward, but I'm not optimistic. Feels like Al Jefferson all over again.

The Jazz aren't building a team around Rubio. If nothing else, we can flip him later and probably get better value than we gave up.

Something that kinda sucks is that OKC pick now being gone takes away some flexibility in being able to dump Burks.

Where you would pray to pick someone as good as Ricky Rubio, and likely fail.

Sure, Rubio is good, but he is a fit at all? The Jazz are going to have 3 non-shooters on the floor to start games and only 1 guy who can really create his own shot.

Fan-f-ing-tastic move. Wow. For nothing! Hill would have crippled us financially. Now we got some serious $$ for Ingles and Joe Johnson, who are waaaaaaayyyy more important than the delta between Hill and Rubio. Big Shot was huge in the playoffs (and all year for that matter), and those kind of kickass role players are dam hard to find. Hayward has to be happy.

Way to go DL / KoC! Having that cap space was great discipline.

And there's NO WAY Hayward was saying I'm leaving if you don't resign Hill. He was saying he's got to have a top caliber point guard. Friendships shmendships.

If westbrook gets trade this year, Rubio's value>>>>Trade value of that pick

I like Rubio's value over that pick regardless what OKC does. I'm honestly super excited about the move, but I was just saying losing that asset might make it tougher to dump Burks.

I think Quin was done starting Favors as of last year, but if Rubio is starting, there's no doubt Favors isn't. Favors may even get traded. People need to chill and give DL a chance to operate.

In the vacuum of getting Rubio for a 1st round non-lottery pick I think it's a great deal.

Ricky Rubio playing on the slowest paced team who starts two traditional big men, that just doesnt sound good.

Because despite being in the 92nd percentile of open 3pt shots he is one of the worst shooters in the NBA.

Ricky has a piece of advice for you....

"Cy, change your face.... enjoy it!"

I don't get this crap about Rudy being a non-shooter. Has anyone checked his fg%? With Rubio in there to feed him the ball? That goes for Faves as well. When healthy, he's got a great mid-range game.

The Rubio trade also signals that the Jazz want to match offers for Joe Ingles. This might help dissuade other teams from making offers to Ingles and soften his market a little, imo.
