It's fair that we are all having a crush on Bis, but let's be honest this is because this draft is so weak.
We really have no shot at anyone that exciting at 6. Kanter is gone then.
Bismack might not even be there. Bismack would be exciting as hell to think about over the summer, but damn what a long shot to really pan
out for a top 6 pick don't you think?
You definitely make a point, but that said, BPA regardless of the draft or whatever. The thing that excites me about Biyombo that really no one else in this draft does in the same way is the one word I would describe him as: AGGRESSIVE. And not just aggressive. Not a caveman. Not Fesenko. The guy is POWERFUL, yet he's still fluid and explosive. Quick feet. Quick hands. MONSTROUS arms/wingspan. Carries not just a swagger on the court, but the kind you want (not the kind that leads to chuckers). Carries a DEFENSIVE swagger like you see in KG and few other players. Gets up to shut down the other team.
He's raw on offense, but again, AGGRESSIVE. Knows he can simply overpower people and loves to dunk on people. Knows he can get to the line when he knows he has a strength or quickness advantage, even though he's not a ballhandler. To see a kid that young with so little experience show the savvyness that he does in that regard even being as raw as he is shows an immense talent and a rare intellect.
We've seen what a good head on an amazing body can do with Favors. I think you can actually draw a lot of comparisons between the two, actually, but looking at their respective bodies of work at the same age, Biyombo actually would excite me more because of, again, the aggression he shows. The confidence, the savvyness.
I'm high as **** on this kid, and I think his basement is... well, I don't even know. Players built like him just don't happen a lot. Serge Ibaka is the most worthy comparison I've heard to date, and if you can get that, you've had a good draft.
