2011 draft.....

It's fair that we are all having a crush on Bis, but let's be honest this is because this draft is so weak.

We really have no shot at anyone that exciting at 6. Kanter is gone then.
Bismack might not even be there. Bismack would be exciting as hell to think about over the summer, but damn what a long shot to really pan
out for a top 6 pick don't you think?

I think his production in the second-best league in the world + his improvement since arriving there + his age = a solid prospect in any draft. But, you are right, we'd get him at #6 without any troubles in most drafts.

You definitely make a point, but that said, BPA regardless of the draft or whatever. The thing that excites me about Biyombo that really no one else in this draft does in the same way is the one word I would describe him as: AGGRESSIVE. And not just aggressive. Not a caveman. Not Fesenko. The guy is POWERFUL, yet he's still fluid and explosive. Quick feet. Quick hands. MONSTROUS arms/wingspan. Carries not just a swagger on the court, but the kind you want (not the kind that leads to chuckers). Carries a DEFENSIVE swagger like you see in KG and few other players. Gets up to shut down the other team.

He's raw on offense, but again, AGGRESSIVE. Knows he can simply overpower people and loves to dunk on people. Knows he can get to the line when he knows he has a strength or quickness advantage, even though he's not a ballhandler. To see a kid that young with so little experience show the savvyness that he does in that regard even being as raw as he is shows an immense talent and a rare intellect.

We've seen what a good head on an amazing body can do with Favors. I think you can actually draw a lot of comparisons between the two, actually, but looking at their respective bodies of work at the same age, Biyombo actually would excite me more because of, again, the aggression he shows. The confidence, the savvyness.

I'm high as **** on this kid, and I think his basement is... well, I don't even know. Players built like him just don't happen a lot. Serge Ibaka is the most worthy comparison I've heard to date, and if you can get that, you've had a good draft.

It's also worth noting his IMMEDIATE contribution playing at about as high a level as you'll find outside the NBA. This guy is NOT Sene. There's a reason his team played tough (and lost) about him playing in the Hoops Summit. That's another thing I like about the kid; he's not stupid and he won't be bullied off the court either. He wants to play in the NBA and he knows he can.

If he weren't raw offensively he wouldn't fall to the Jazz at 6. I hope GMs continue to think him too raw or continue to question his age so he'll be there for the Jazz.

I have decided that I dont like him just so that the jazz will draft him. The one player I didn't want last year was Hayward. So I am getting juiced for t jones or Brandon knight. Oh please I want biyombo

BB has a swagger on defense and with the way he rebounds and moves that reminds me a bit of a young Karl Malone. BB is actually similar in height and across the shoulders. He's just a rare and potentially dominant athlete.

alright, that's a couple of pages of good Biyombo lovin', and it is fairly realistic that the Jazz can get him. So, what would you do in the event that we drafted him? Would you keep him overseas for a year? Would you get him 10-15 minutes a night in a Jazz uni right away? Would you trade Al or Paul so you could get him even more burn?

Did anyone who loves Jones see Aminu in college? Both played 4, both will convert to 3 in the pros, both were poor outside shooters, both were otherworldly athletes. They even put up almost the same numbers in college when you adjust for minutes. So if you're down with Aminu, bring on Jones.

Not sure. I'd probably start looking to trade Millsap for a quality 2 or 3. Could maybe keep Bismack overseas and give Millsap some time at the 3 to see how he does. Or bring Bismack along and evaluate him up close for awhile before trading Millsap away. Or none of the above. I'll let you know after he's on the team.

I was down ON Aminu, so I don't want Jones.

I would say that Terrence Jones is not as good as an athlete or ball-handler as Aminu. Jones has better post moves and one-on-one scoring moves. Jones reminds me more of James Johnson.

I think that may be a link to the wikipedia mobile site, I'm on my phone. Just google "NBA draft 2011 wikipedia" and I has a nice explanation of lottery chances per team, per pick.

Heh, I was wondering what was wrong with it. I threw the regular site on your post as an edit.

I'll take your word on his alleged scoring ability, but I can't get past his shooting numbers. 44% playing the 4 and only 15% of his shots were 3's. If he's got these great one on one moves, why is he missing so much against inferior defenders? Aminu had the same problem and it's carried over nicely to the pros.

The larger point is both Aminu and Jones might turn out to be good players. But it's going to take years while we're paying them 6 money. It's just a bad bet.

2 more interesting links about my spanish league ACB, with a few great actions of Biyombo and his team Fuenlabrada

Against F.C.Barcelona ( awesome victory & euroligue champion )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNjnbnCb1SM

He´s hardly blocked by Fran Vazquez

And against Cajasol in Sevilla ( Cajasol was runner-up in Eurocup League a few days ago ) in very important game for make the playoffs
Probably best game of Biyombo in ACB

If we drafted BB at #6 and a point pg at #12 (knight, walker, Jimmer or Reggie), I would see if BB or the number twelve pick looked capable of being a starter by trade deadline and then look to trade Milsap or Harris for a wing player.
