STAYWARD

The Jazz would rather have Porter than Gallo, I'm pretty sure. There's a good young core with Gobert, Mitchell and Rubio to continue building on.

You have to pay Otto Porter the max to get him. In a cap climate where teams are paying less, it's not good to have needlessly maxed out guys on long-term contracts.

I love OPJR, he isnt worth the max if the cap isnt spiking (which it isnt).

What sucks about this is that, deep down, we're all thinking Hayward is gone. It makes the wait that much more painful.

What sucks is that the initial report felt like a swift kick in the balls. But I was able to joke about it with a friend pretty quickly after, and I was doing fine.

Now it just feels like a knife is being twisted in my heart.

Nope, what really sucks is the retraction, thus leaving us with just a shred of hope that he returns.

Hayward needs to call up Rubio, Gobert, and Ingles and go camping in the desert. Take some peyote and find yourself Hayward.

Come on Hayward! Everyone knows no one is beating the warriors! Stay in Utah and let's make fun of all these reports!

lol this is funny. First the decision, then Melodrama and this.. And he's a one time all-star only.

Utah Jazz have been rebuilding over the years. They're getting better every year and with a lot of injuries and lack of experience they look as good as any team not named GSW. How do you leave that behind and run away? You can get the most money and play for the team that has developed you meticulously. You'd not have become half the player you're now had been drafted by the Kings and turned a Chandler Parsons or something.. you can continue playing with best center and defender in the league. Instead you prefer to be bish to a midget? Good look dude.

He knows all of this but I think he has built up a fantasy in his head that is pulling him away from reason.

I would go with Patrick Patterson. We could pay him a little more than we would have otherwise and his deal and Ingles' and Rubio's would be damn good contracts. He would be the stretch 4 we need and add a lot of toughness, especially in comparison to that little bitch Hayward.

Rubio-29, Exum-19
Hood-22, Mitchell-16, Exum-10
Ingles-29, Hood-7, Johnson-12
Favors-11, Johnson-12, Patterson-25
Gobert-30, Favors-18

Roll with no one getting more than 29 a night, thus keeping guys fresh to play way more up tempo, keep them healthy, and get the young guys in Exum and Mitchell the time they need to develop. It also wouldn't be pissing money down the drain on some ludicrous contract that Gall or Porter will never live up to as well as provide us with financial flexibility next summer, the financial flexibility in fact I think VERY few teams will have.

Obviously those minutes could be tweaked a bit.

He's restricted and Washington is going to match ANY offer he receives.

We'd have to do a sign and trade anyway... we don't have that kind of space when he leaves.

I've moved on. But if he had told the Celtics he was coming, who would be the first two people he'd call? 1. Stevens; 2. Ainge. It would be f'ing hilarious if Stevens was the one who leaked the news. His most respected ally betrays his trust and doesn't allow Hayward to break the news.
