NBA Free Agency Moves in General (related to the Jazz, but not just moves made by the Jazz)

The S&T discussions involving Crowder were likely short lived. Boston had NO leverage in discussions involving Bradley, Crowder and Smart because teams knew they had to shed salary. Look at what they gave Bradley up for in the end. Marcus Morris isn't a good player. I bet discussions consisted of Ainge looking for something amazing, DL saying **** no you can't get that from any team in the league right now, and then it was over. They probably spent more time discussing more realistic S&T options.

KCP IS A UFA LOL.

Is he good? I've seen max contract this and that, but that doesn't seem to mean much these days.

Bradley has one year left and then he's unrestricted. That's why they didn't get much for him. Crowder's trade value is a completely different story.

The Jazz have historically been able to fill out their roster with rotation players during free agency. Examples are: Al Jefferson, Mo Williams, Marvin Williams, Randy Foye, Trevor Booker, Joe Ingles, Joe Johnson, Jeff Withey. Unless the Jazz are getting a young player whom they believe they can further develop, there's no reason to jump for a rotation player just to limit the current team's long-term upside.

The Jazz intentionally held off on acquiring quality vets during the 2013 - 2015 season in order to develop their young players under difficult conditions. When they felt like the cake was almost baked, they went out and got George Hill, Joe Johnson and Boris Diaw to give the team depth.

I'd like to see the Jazz push Dante Exum and Donovan Mitchell, each with 25 mins/night to develop them, and even give Tony Bradley 10 minutes per night at the 5 spot.

I'm fine with 37 wins this year, if it means the Jazz can take one more swing in the lottery to get a talented future scorer.

KCP's contract was supposed to be seen as a benchmark for Rodney Hood's. Hood is a better shooter/scorer and KCP is a better defender. They're otherwise quite similar in terms of production.

This. It's time for a soft reset imo.

bruh... did Shelvin cook the Magic this year or something?

Good for him. More money not on the market for next year. Just glad it's not the Jazz making that deal. $6 million per for Shelvin Mack. He should write a blog post thanking Quin Snyder for playing him big minutes late in the season and in the playoffs after half a year of DNP-CD games.

What do you guys think of James Michael McAdoo as a depth signing at center?

I think he might take the min, or something barely above it.

Been out and haven't caught up yet... how'd we not get in on muscala that deal was way cheap imo.
