2017 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

Amare's defense was a bit better than Kanter's, I'll give him that.

Iso PNR, he'll get destroyed in this league. And he won't be able to stop any of the top 15 Centers he's going against.

Amare was a positive on defense in his prime years, at least according to advanced defensive stats.

I said he was better than Kanter.

His best years he was a mediocre defender. Which, as a big, can kill a team, as we learned from the Boozer/Okur years. And his conventional stats were inflated by D'Antonio/ Nash.

Top 5 years VORP:

AK = 7.5/5.5/4.8/4.1/3.8
AS = 4.0/3.9/2.4/1.9/1.6
AK was the 4th best player on that Jazz squad. Where did the others get picked at? Also that's some nice cherry picking of stats. Amare was a solid defender pre injury.

Amare pre injury averaged 30 points per game in the playoffs and was phenomenal. Against the eventual champions the Spurs Amare averaged 37 points on 55% shooting with mostly Tim Duncan in his prime guarding him. Amare was great after that surgery but people forget that at 22 he was incredible. He outplayed Duncan in his prime at 22.

Well, I was going to pick the Big E, but Ellis did, so I'll go with the other side of my coin flip.

With the 79th pick, Gandalfe selects BOB PETTIT.

tfivas is up now for 2 picks. Unless they've been traded, which is always possible.

80th pick I select The Matrix Shawn Marion

No where near BPA but I like his fit on my squad and he played with Nash, Wade and Dirk in his career so we already know how well they'd mesh.

#81 on the way

If you are looking only at offense, sure enough. He was also past his prime.

I meant as far as helping a team win. Those were also his prime years. Unless you consider his best year to be his prime at 22. Where he lead the team to a .500 record. But the next season he was surpassed by better players.
