What's new

Free agent Jonas Jerebko has agreed to a two-year, $8.2M deal with Utah

I see he tore his Achilles. Having done that myself (both of them two years apart), I feel a bond to fellow Achilles peeps.

I am seriously starved for any decent news because I like this move way more than I should.

Dude hustles, and plays his *** off.

Clearly end of the bench fodder, but hes a good guy to have there.

We are turning into a tougher team that plays balls to the wall.
I like it.

I liked the Sefolosha deal. Jerebko... meh. I really wanted a true stretch 4. Jerebko can hit an outside shot but he's not a shooter if you know what I mean. Shooting is not his role it's just something he's okay doing. He's more of a hustle/energy type role player. I feel like we need a marksman. Someone who will absolutely kill you if you leave him alone. A Robert Horry, Steve Novak, Channing Frye, Matt Bonner type of player.

He's not a bad addition though. I'm hoping these contracts have team options after year one.

Good pick-up. Doesn't bring the type of defensive ability that has become common on this roster, but he certainly brings hustle/intensity. He also brings the skill-set of a true stretch 4, which we clearly lacked (& needed-shooting in general, especially at the 4).

Jerebko is a solid signing which, along with the Seflosha adition, seems to indicate that we intend to compete in the short-term (which I question but understand). As long as we are willing to flip any non-core assets if the current roster proves to not be ready to compete this season, I like this move a lot.

Props to DL for being decisive & moving quickly after being put in a difficult decision. As well as constructing the roster with high motor/high character guys.

Maybe. I think he still might have a chance, but the Jazz's focus is probably getting another guy who can play the 3 since they only have 2 right now (Ingles/Sefolosha).

I kind of figure they are gonna give Hood a chance at the 3.

I thought two seasons back he might be versatile enough offensively to make it work.

You mean you want one dimensional stiffs who couldn't defend my grandma ??

We signed a player from Sweden and a player from Switzerland in 1 day. All we need now is a player from Swaziland.

I mean I wanted a true stretch 4. If they can defend too it's an added bonus. If not it's not a big deal. This team is going to apply the clamps anyway. We have great defenders throughout the roster.

Goodish news: from what i'm reading, it seems that it was only a partial tear, with a few months recovery instead of over a year. Hopefully this is something that he can recover from instead of never being the same. Sadly, I'm not finding that great of articles on it, but here's one:

That happened years ago lol. He is recovered. He is what he is

Anything on top of his nasty attitude is a bonus. Between him and Rudy and the added defense of Mitchell and Thabo it's going to be a fun season. I hope we get inside heads and demoralize mother****ers. Bad Boys II.
