A Big Move on the Horizon?

Favors is a serious downgrade from Love. Let's be real. He'd be a slight upgrade defensively maybe. But it would be a huge hit to their spacing and overall offense. Favors doesn't help them beat Golden St. Who is he taking away defensively? Zaza?

That's not the way rim protection works. Like Gobert does, any rim protector stops the other team (every player) going to the rim. It makes it in turn easier to gamble on steals. Favors can provide them some of that.

Then they get Joe Johnson clutch abilities and shooting too. Very useful for a contender.

Favors + Johnson would probably bring more to a contender like Cavs than Kevin Love does.

Edit : I mean Favors if healthy, because that's the big question mark.

Actually, Favs and JJ for Love makes perfect sense. Jazz give up both because they are expiring. Cleveland wants that in case Lebron leaves next year. Cavs get an interior presence AND JJ gives them the outside shooting they trade in Love, who Lebron has been disappointed with at times. Utah gets a shooter who still has years left on his contract.

I think they would also want to dump Shumpert in the deal... still say it would be a three team deal with NY.

I think Favs and Thompson are somewhat redundant. JJ would be big for them.

Adding shumpert without dumping AB becomes a problem if we extend Hood and Exum... though Udoh Jerebko and sefolosha are small enough deals to move if needed and not sure if they are fully guaranteed. I suspect they are.

Lol. It's the same damn thing he tweeted before! Try clicking on the links.

And if you would read it, it's barely a paragraph with no feelings/opinion on how he fits in the Jazz.

I would consider that barely talking about it.

This is the actual reason why he had 'barely' tweeted about it.

I will try to do a special edition Facebook live in the afternoon when I return to Utah about the Jazz 3 signing. Keep an eye out

What free agents in their right mind would sign on to a team just to be used as pawns and traded straight after though? Makes no sense to me why they would do that.

Uhh, they would talk about it and agree to it (no one has actually signed yet). And I dont think the guys we signed are getting traded. I think he doesnt want to talk about it yet because he knows Favors is getting moved and to talk about the signings you have to talk about them within the context of the team, which changes drastically if Favors is moved.

Edit: Anyone else noticed now all the names ended with 'O'? Thabo, Udoh, Jarebko?

The 'O' team?????

Last year Favors played 47% of his total minutes next to Gobert.

If Udoh is the primary backup center, how does Favors get any minutes?

Favors played 540 total minutes next to Gobert last year, for 50 games. That equates to 10.8 minutes per game.

I think we may be in on either melo deal... he heads to Cleveland we get Love... he heads to Houston we may get Anderson... and assets.

I don't think you can just assume these are depth signings for a health emergency. I think Favs knows he's gone in a year and we need to reconfigure. It may end up being less than spectacular but I think these signings hint at Favs being gone.

I still don't get why people think we're the only team that can help facilitate a 'Love' deal?!?!

Favs plays PF full-time. Wasn't it a couple of seasons ago with the Gobert, Favs, Exum lineup that Utah finished so strong over the last 25 or so games?

Not saying that happens. I still think Favs will be traded.

I dont have anything against keeping Favors. I would like to keep him and see what he can do now that he is, hopefully, healthy. I just see a huge minutes crunch now at the PF/C spot if he stays. Is he going to be happy if he is only getting 24 mpg while healthy in his contract year?

I have to to think w/ how great JJ is for our offense, he gets at least 20 mpg. I'd also think they'd want to give Jonas at least 10 to keep him engaged (plus extra on the days when JJ has to rest cuz of age). Udoh is probably going to get all the backup center minutes.
