What's new

Eric Griffin

There's a lot of different factors. If we trade Diaw, then we are taking player(s) back and are over the 15-man limit.

If we cut Diaw we are at 15 limit, with Neto.

If we think Mitchell can run point, we can cut Neto and have an extra spot without Neto or Diaw.

Jazz seemingly could cut Bolomboy and pay him about 30% of his guaranteed money and open up a roster spot there. Possibly offer him a two-way contract?

And of course if there is a bigger trade out there that could open up a roster spot as well.

From what it sounds like I lot of people think he wouldn't take a two-way deal.

I'm guessing he signs somewhere else, but who knows.

I'd love if the Jazz kept him or Bolomboy on a 2 way contract. Keep Wallace on one as well. Send those 3 plus Bradley down to the G-league. Stars have the most dominating frontcourt and the Jazz really develop those guys.

Bolomboy has looked as good this year as Tibor Pleiss did last year in summer league. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jazz part ways with him.

If I had to choose, then it is Griffin all the way. I haven'st seen anything from Bolomboy to say he is an NBA player at this time.

Each team gets two.

Each team can still send two 15 man roster players to the G league as well as the two split contract guys (who are primarily down there and limited in the amount of time they can spend with the NBA club.) With the Jazz veteran depth, I REALLY hope that they use the Stars to develop their young guys. I'd love to see Griffin stick with the Jazz somehow.

I hope today isnt the last day we see Griffin in a Jazz uniform.

Sadly i think it is. I like him a lot. I think his shooting is underrated and the bandage on his finger has hurt him. Bolomboy better be damn good cuz I love that guy.

I was told Bolomboy will be on the roster by someone who knows... unless we have a two for one trade coming or he will take our two-way I think we are saying goodbye. he shouldn't take a two way deal... he is an NBA player and should be on a roster.

Griff is an NBA player but there is no room here now.

It's a mistake not to keep Griffin over Bolomboy. There's no comparison between their skill levels
And Griffin is bigger.

Bolomboy has center skills in an undersized 4's body with a hitch in his jumper.

Griffin has legit 4 size, could probably play 5 in some lineups, and has some perimeter ball skills.

I think it comes down to whether they want Bolomboy or Griffin. They could theoretically keep both if Griffin agreed to a two way contract. But I'm not sure he leaves his Italian team for 270 thousand a year. Plus Griffin is 27. He really needs to be in a situation to contribute on a main roster now. And finally, having both Bolomboy and Griffin seems redundant. I like Bolomboy. It's been pretty cool having a local product on the Jazz. But I would rather have Griffin on the team after watching his SL.

Almost 500k to cut Bolomboy. They're not going to do that. Neto isn't guaranteed I don't think, or his QO could still be rescinded. Cutting Neto and giving Griffin a cheaper 1 (guaranteed) + 1 (non-guaranteed) seems like a no brainer. PG is well covered between Rubio, Exum, and Mitchell

Didnt they cut someone a year or two ago that had a million guaranteed?

Cutting Neto makes no sense. The Jazz drafted a center and signed a center this off-season. It makes the development of Bolomboy kind of null and void.

Makes more sense to either invest in a 3 or 4.

Exum and Rubio both have an injury history, so Neto has insurance value.

Favors has an injury history as well as only a 1 year left on his deal (along with JJ) so another PF makes sense.
