All-Time NBA Draft Round 2: Hekate vs. White Chocolate

Which team would win in a 7-game series?

  • Total voters
    32
  • Poll closed .
1. Oscar > Stockton (side note Baron Davis > Tim Hardaway, but they're backups so it's less important)
2. Kobe >> Paul Pierce
3. Rick Barry vs. Pippen = meh
4. Kevin Garnett > Barkley (in my opinion, at the top of their respective games), plus probably also Love > Coleman
5. Mourning might be > Bill Walton, but the Walton / Yao Ming combo > Alonzo Mourning / Marcus Camby combo

So Hekate is essentially the same or clearly superior at every position, in my opinion.

I agree with most of those. Hekate is better at every starting position. I would definitely take Tim over Baron though. Rick Barry is better than Pippen but its close. Oscar and Stockton are just too different of players for me to compare. I think Oscar is probably better player but Stockton was a better competitor and made his teammates much better.

This one is not close for me Hekate is the clear winner but voting got WC through. That was a good matchup I guess.

I'm not knowledgeable about this stuff. That's why I don't participate. I broke a tie in round 1 and was calling David Robinson Tim Duncan.

But Addictionary... had I realized it was Robinson, it would have made the decision even easier. But that's just how dumb I am, I DIDN'T realize until you pointed it out.

Fair enough but my biggest gripe would be the Kobe >> Paul Pierce comment. Kobe is arguably one of the most overrated players ever. His efficiency numbers are crap and he was ball dominant in the way Pierce could have owned if he had been given the opportunity and hype. Kobe could never hit a three to save his life and was one of the worst mass clutch time finishers (don't have the link but it's been posted several times). Pierce was the superior defender.

I'm not saying I'd take Pierce over Kobe at all but I think the back court is so evenly matched (like you said Stock + Baron vs Oscar + Tim) that the bigs are the difference in the argument.

How can you vote against a team with Stockton/Pippen/Barkley?

Then on top of that you throw in Pierce, Mourning, Carmelo and Iguodala?

I probably have the best 6th man in this whole tournament.

You have the most loaded big name team yet. I thought spicecamera's team was loaded but there is literally no weak ling on your starting 5 or your bench.

But when you're playing all star game lineups... kinda funny that this site tends to hate on the real game but loves this summertime camaraderie.

I don't think I've ever disagreed more with anything than Kobe being overrated, and I ****ing hated the guy.

All this just to lose to Addictionary (I would vote for addi vs either of these teams) lol
I absolutely love his big man combo. (AD and Shaq) Probably my favorite combo at any position in this thing.

Stockton is better than Robertson. I can't believe I have to even say that to people who post on here.

He would have been the all-time leader in assists even if he didn't play his last 6 seasons!!!

Did you guys forget that he played 19 seasons and played 82 games in 16 of them? He also played every game in the lock-out shortened season.

He's the all-time leader in steals too.

Come on, man.

Hekate is better at every starting position? Are you kidding me?

Barry is better than Pippen?

That is worse than saying Garnett is a super-Pippen. The blatant disrespect to Pippen around here compared to the worshipping of Jordan is hilarious.

Even if I give you Stockton and Pippen. I am clearly better at other 3 positions. And Stock and Pippen aren't that better than Robertson and Barry.

I also have 14 All-Nba Defensive Team between Walton and Garnett. You argued your team was better defensively while Barkley was Harden-like.

People are sleeping on Barkley at his peak. Clear GOAT-PF if he could have sustained it.

Stockton - Pippen - Mourning

17 All-NBA Defensive teams

All-Time Steals Leader

2 x DPOY

3 x Steals Leader

2 x Blocks Leader

Don't act like my team isn't good defensively.

This is a mostly praising stockton longevity type post.
This competition is more about each player at their peak year.

You mean he got 25pts, 12rebs and 5 assists at least every single game for that whole season?
No. He averaged that over the course of the season.

I love Pippen, I watched every bulls game as a kid. Pippen is great but Barry was a step above and had some monster playoffs.

You keep talking about Stockton's longevity as a reason he is great. That doesn't matter in this competition. It's just their best season. Stockton's career is better than Oscars. But if it's just one playoff series like this is supposed to be I'm probably going Oscar but that one is close for me.

Robertson played against inferior defenders and his FG% sucked. He also played 44-45 minutes a game. That makes all of his stats inflated and not impressive at all to me.

He averaged double figures in assists when it was harder to get assists. The player you passed needed to shoot it immediately for it to be considered an assist. That's like 2-3 assists more per game. And this is just absurd. We are not putting these players into time machines. Talent is there and it translates to any era of basketball.

No where does it say we're taking each players best season, even if it did, it doesn't mean voters will or have to vote that way.
