New Nike Uniforms: How Bad Are They Going To Look?

We'll be the first team to have a sponsor design. It is going to be an orange Vivint jersey! Yay!

Did you not hear the part about ****ing orange jerseys?
Sure did. Thought the remarks in that piece suggested the changes might go beyond the colors of one kit, though. I had figured speculation that the icon and association editions would remain relatively unchanged was true. Not so sure now. Guess we will see soon.

I still think they need to get rid of the blue, have white and purple be the 2 "regular" whatever they labeled them, than green and yellow be the other 2, however it seems orange will be a new color which I'm keeping an open mind towards.

To me purple just makes too much sense with it being a traditional color but also it really is the community color at least for local fans. How many of us are Ute and Y fans? How many of us have family members on the opposing side as us as well as friends? I'm betting the vast majority. So that's why IMO red and blue coming together is the community color and just makes too much sense not to do it.

If there is no mountains throwback option, in my opinion, that will mean that everything they've said about listening to the fans has been total lip service.

We all have been bitchin about that for a year now.

I think orange jerseys are a good indicator they don't know what the **** they are doing... If they can't relate and build an identity with the Jazz, start over with something that the community and management can identify with. Every change utah has made to the jazz identity with the exception of this last year has been total **** imo.

I don't think that's fair to say. I want no part of the mountains and a good amount of Jazz fans that I talk about it with agree with me. However, that doesn't mean that I think I'm part of the majority. I don't think we've seen any definitive, accurate case study that tells us what most Jazz fans want. Maybe, just maybe, Nike and the Utah Jazz have?

Check the twitter timeline leading up to the 1997 finals team voctory lap last season. Not an insignificant number of people clammoring for throwbacks.

Also, crazy that the mountains are considered throwbacks now.

Also, count me in the camp of loving, absolutely loving, the current team identity. Kinda scared that Nike is going to do a bunch of Oregon-level ******** with it.

Well, what percentage of Jazz fans are on twitter? Of the ones on twitter, what percentage of those fans commented on the throwbacks? I totally see what you're saying, but it seems inexact at best. Definitely not exact enough to claim that the Jazz are ignoring what their fans want.

Am I the only one stoked (besides Stoked) for the new orange jerseys!?

If I have it right (thanks to Cy) the main two jerseys will remain essentially the same (which I think is awesome). The other two will be a bit unique.

According to Steve Starks (Tony Stark to The Dunkster AKA G-time) they want to push the envolope a bit. I think our last reveal will be an awesome representation of southern Utah. I can't wait to see some "gradient" version of this...

Jazz's best years were played with the mountains... if there are 3 notes uniforms I wouldn't mind at least 1 being the mountains.

I think a lot of teams are going to have jerseys that are not really part of their color scheme since every team has the "community inspired" jersey this year. Wouldn't surprise me if Portland gets a blue/purple/red/green colorway for the PDX carpet or something.

Also, Starks said they are working with Nike on jerseys for the coming years as well, so don't get discouraged if there's no Mountain jersey. Next season only 8 teams are getting throwbacks (I think it's the Hawks, Hornets, Warriors, Pacers, Bulls, Heat, Bucks, and Suns). I wouldn't be surprised if Nike expands the amount of teams getting throwbacks in the coming years since I'm sure they'd sell a ton of them.

Steve Starks just tweeted that 2 Jazz unis will be revealed today and two more later this year.

I hope one of the new ones isn't the white or blue. Give us one of the 2 mystery unis.

None of the new colors/designs are getting reveled anytime soon. I think the last one is getting unveiled in December.

You are correct. They just revealed the "association" jersey (white) and the "icon" (blue) jerseys.

TBH, I think last years jerseys were better. I don't like how the stripes only go half way down the top and half way up the bottom.

Hopefully the next two are better.

It was like that last year too bud. It just looks more pronounced because you are seeing them not tucked in.
