Resigning Boozer Jazz's top priority

WARNING WARNING WARNING ------------------DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU GET OFFENDED EASILY!----------------------WARNING WARNING WARNING

What guy in the draft that was available could REALLY help against the Lakers, seriously? Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Aldrich. Other than that, no one. IMO
Paul George could help to defend Lamar Odom. I'm not so sure that hayward can do that.

Trading for Cousins would've helped. Looks like they could've done so, but it would've meant not being able to afford Boozer.

I dont have a problem with bringing Boozer back as long as it's not ridiculous money or length of contract & they move AK and/or Okur(yeah right) for a big man.

Food for thought, here's what other PF's or C's did against the Lakers in the playoffs. Left off are: Green(not really a PF), Collison (no need) and Big Baby because they didn't do much worth sifting through stats for.

PTS RB AST BLK STL MINS H
Ibaka: 8 6.5 0 2 0 25 6'10"
Millsap: 19 7 3 1 1 33 6'8"
Boozer: 15.5 13 2.5 .25 .25 38.5 6'9"
Amare: 25 6 .5 1.5 1 37.8 6'10"
Frye: 7.3 5.5 .5 .5 .5 25.5 6'11"
Lopez: 8 4 0 0 0 17 7'0"
Garnett: 15 5.5 3 1 1 32 6'11"
Perkins: 5 5 1 0 0 20 6'10"

(for some reason it wont align the columns .....whats a guy to do, sorry).

Millsap and Boozer played "awful well together"? I didn't see the word "well" the first time and I was like "man, finally he realized that"...

i guess the best option we have is probably sign-and-trade Boozer to a team with cap space so that we can get a trade exception, that would allow us to take part of this summer free agency. should try to target some realistic targets like Scola and Haywood to shore up our front court. Try to pry Gortat away from the Magic won't be a bad choice either.

Hmm, lookin at them stats, some poor fool might start to thinkin that the undersized, perennial pine-ridin, Paperboy done as good as the 6' 11" hall of famer, Garnett, eh? Either way, I guess the Celts couldn't beat Lakers. No one else could either. Which proves one thing, if nuthin else: Every power forward in the league aint nuthin but crap.

I guess you're not talking about how Millsap totally fell apart and flamed out, then.

"Totally fell apart?" Are ya talkin bout Boozer's first 10-15 games last season, that it?

Or the total breakdowns which led to missing 30-40 games a season, mebbe?

So what you've done is compare a player at the beginning of his career, to a player at the end of his career who was or is a shell of his former self. Again, you just don't get it, do you?

Yeah, I guess I don't, eh, Vinny? I was under the impression that Garnett was a starter, for a championship finalist team even, I spoze.

KOC has to keep the PR spin positive with Boozer no matter how they feel about him. Even if they don't want him Jazz have to get his approval for any S&T that might come along. Also if Boozer doesn't get an offer he likes, Jazz need to keep the door open to resigning him. Many reasons to publicly say Jazz really want Boozer back.

Did anyone watch the clip of O'Connor's comment? He looked like he had a cattle prod up his arse. And the reporter basically asked him a leading question. IMO, there is not a chance in hell Boozer will be back. Now if they can get some value out of a S&T, without having to take back $15M in salaries, then something might get be done.

I just have a feeling if we sign Boozer, he will pull a hamstring during a pre season game and be out for 60+ games this season.

Ya think? Ya tryin to suggest that mebbe Boozer aint no rock-solid, go-to startin forward, or sumthin?

"In his first season with the Jazz (2004–05), Boozer averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds, showing promise and the ability to be the go-to guy, while learning a new system. However, he suffered an injury, missing the later part of the season, which contributed to the Jazz missing the playoffs for only the second time in 22 years, and he was publicly criticized for a lack of effort by team owner Larry Miller. As the 2005–06 NBA season began, Boozer was still recovering from injury, and then aggravated a hamstring, causing him to miss the first half of that season as well. He returned to action in late February, easing into action by coming off the bench for the Jazz. In the middle of March, he was placed back into the starting lineup....Boozer got off to a strong start in the 2006–07 season... Boozer was named part of the NBA All-Star roster as a reserve, but could not participate because of a hairline fracture in his left fibula. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Boozer

He went on to play in a grand total of 37 games in the 08-09 season, though. If you're lookin for a "starter" who doesn't "completely fall apart," what more could ya ax for?

What guy in the draft that was available could REALLY help against the Lakers, seriously? Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe Aldrich. Other than that, no one. IMO

He is nothing. Fes is 3 inches taller and 60 pounds heavier than Aldrich, and probably faster too. You will see how small Aldrich is once they put him next to real NBA centers. Of course ALdrich might upgrade to 3 inch platforms or high heels to close the difference.

I think KOC is just looking for a fat nice trade exception for Boozer and future 1st. None of the teams targeting Boozer have any pieces we need or at least are willing to give up:

NJ: Lopez and Favors no chance
Chicago: Absolutely no one we want
NY: Lee, but he plays Milsap's position and too expensive
Miami: Beasley, slight interest given he still has upside

There's not going to be a sign-and-trade. We will have to take back salary that, in the end, we will not be okay with. Also, we won't seek much value for Boozer (I said much value, not equal value, so spare me the lecture on how I think we're going to trade him for a franchise player) as our front office is rather defeatist in our expectations or attitude.

One of two things will happen:

1) Boozer signs outright with another team.
2) As the summer winds down and no team offers Boozer a big enough deal, we will either sign him for a somewhat reduced price or less years to the contract (but not both).

And you will hear the following responses, respectively:

1) We tried numerous ways trying to work things out but at the end of the day a deal was not able to be finalized. When dealing with a sign-and-trade, there are 3 parties that must come to agreement.
2) We feel we have a great, young core that will only improve as the team continues to play together and gain experience, on top of having a new, young lottery pick that led his team to the national championship.

We will bring Collins into training camp. "He's a big body who knows the system and is a tenacious defender who does not shy away from contact."

Ya Aldrich... you may not remember but we had a tremendous length problem... hell Whiteside wouldn't have sucked... he doesn't need to play much just guard Gasol.

You REALLY think Whiteside can guard Gasol?? You wanted them to pick him @ 9 When he went where in the draft? You're such a joker....you.

I would guess that Aldrich knows positional defense better than Fes. I'm pretty damn sure Fes doesn't even know what that means.

Aldrich is already a better rebounder than Fes. I guarantee that.

With that said our best option is to S&T Boozer or let him go. We need some turnover in the PF/C position because what we got isn't working like it should.
