What's new

W/ Lakers going to deal players, should Jazz make a move on any of them?

If we received the #1 pick, I could see trading it and memo for Odom and Shannon Brown! Then the lakers could draft Kyrie Irving to help thier pg situation and also have money off the books for the next year with memo's contract to look to sign a free agent! While we would have our sf and back up sg positions secure. The only problem I have with this is it helps the Lakers stay relevant and become younger, and I hate the Lakers!

We don't want any player from the Lakers our team has a brighter future today than they do.

If Magic trade Dwight it better be for something better than the Lakers have or they are a horrible franchise.

What bad contracts do the Lakers have to absorb in order to get Howard? No way they take Arenas. Maybe they'd take the hit on Turkoglu and send Ron out. But I can't see Orlando biting on Bynum and Artest even if Bynum signs an extension. If I was Smith, I'd just cross my fingers that Arenas can get back to 80% of his former self. His chips are already in the middle, anyway. But I wouldn't want to be Otis Smith right now.

You cannot put Ron Artest and leadership in the same sentence unless you put "lacks" in between.

If im trading away my best player in Howard and sending him to the Lakers. IM gonig to send them the videos of the playoffs with his numbers compared next to Gasol. Then start off saying Gasol, Odom, Artest,Character for Gilbert, Howard. I think the Lakers just might be craziest enough to do it. Gilbert, Kobe, Barns, Howard, Bynum is still a crazy good team.

But on the other hand, I think that if im Orlando I might be listening to offers from the Clippers, Twlves, New Jersey, Thunder and Washington.

Clippers offer up Gordon, there minny pick, Kamen and Aminu for Howard

Twolves offer up Kevin Love, Darko, W. Johnson, rights to Rubio, and a lotto pick

NJ. offers up Lotto picks, Lopez, a freshly signed Kris Humphries, Morrows

Id call the Thunder up and ask for Westbrook, Ibaka, Perkins for Howard, Nelson

Washington offers up Jordan Crawford, Mcgee, Lotto picks, and Blatche

I thnk they can get a decent amount of talent from Howard.

Would he really sign longterm with MIN, Clips, or Washington. Maybe NJ. But if you were ORL would you want to face Howard 4 times a year and maybe in the playoffs?

Good points! Whatever returned me the best assets, to quickly rebuild for the future. But i'd send him to the Clippers and just laugh :)

So much bull **** in this thread, it's hard to know where to start.

I guess I'll stick to the topic and say they're probably not going to make a huge change unless they're getting something good back, and regardless, I don't really care for anyone on the team.

Bynum is one big knee injury.

Artest sucks.

Gasol is soft.

Kobe we cannot have.

I like Shannon Brown though.

And Lamar is with a Kardasian.

Gasol may be soft, but he's a stud. To me, calling him soft sounds like one of those things people say enough that it becomes conventional wisdom. I'm highly skeptical. Before he arrived in LA, Kobe and the Lakers didn't get past the second round. A few years later, they have 3 finals appearances and 2 titles. He was the difference maker. Who in their right mind wouldn't want Gasol?

Now that's a stretch. Lakers still have Bryant and Gasol, I'd take that any day over anything the Jazz have.

Maybe in the long-term, but not over the next 2-3 years.

I really like the future of the Jazz better indeed. Bryants owed 83+ million over the next 3 years...dang!!

Okur and the 12th pick for Bynum. Get it done Kevin. Seriously though Bynums knees our so scary for the amount of money he is making.

I wouldn't want Gasol on our team as it is now. Sure he can score on anyone in the low-post, but don't we have that in Jefferson already? I'm not saying Jefferson=Gasol, I'm saying there are much bigger needs for this team than a all-star caliber PF/C when you can argue that we already have one and potentially two. Call me out on this if you want but I actually think Jefferson is a better defender than Gasol from just my perspective. I haven't gone into stats or anything to really find out. But my biggest reason is Jefferson is 25 and Gasol is 30. Al fits into our future plans better in my opinion, and obviously we would have to give up more than Jefferson in a Gasol swap.

Bynum, Odom, Fisher, Kobe, and Artest are all dirty aholes who would never get away with their thuggery and cheating if they tried that playing for Utah.
From what I've seen, Gasol might make a good addition, but I wouldn't support a team with any of those other guys.

It's Anthony Morrow! Not Morrows. No "s" at the end. So many people can't get that right
