History. A unique opportunity. A once in a lifetime experience.
All of that is in prospect for the Sydney Kings as they travel nearly 13,000 kilometres to Salt Lake City to take on the NBA's Utah Jazz next Tuesday (Australian time).
Sydney has the singular honour of playing in the first-ever game between an NBL club and an NBA team before Melbourne United does battle with Oklahoma City six days later and the Brisbane Bullets face up to the Phoenix Suns on October 14.
The importance of the occasion is not lost on Sydney Kings Managing Director Jeff Van Groningen.
"The opportunity to play the Utah Jazz is simply historic for the Sydney Kings," Mr Van Groningen said.
"We are grateful to both the NBA and the NBL head offices for extending us this chance to compete, learn from and interact with an incredibly well-run and highly regarded NBA franchise."
"If I were to choose a word to reflect our sentiments - humbled would be the one."
The Utah Jazz have established themselves as one of the best young teams in the NBA. Even with the big loss of all-star Gordon Hayward, Utah have a formidable squad that will expect to make the playoffs again in 2017-18.
Their back court looks particularly intimidating with the Jazz trading for Ricky Rubio from the Minnesota Timberwolves, alongside highly touted rookie Donovan Mitchell and rising star Rodney Hood.
So let take a deep look at this Jazz roster, and delve into a little bit of the history and their newly renovated facility.
Joe Ingles: A poster boy for the new position-less basketball era, Ingles has been listed in every position except centre, and has played serious minutes at point guard, shooting guard, small forward and power forward during his time with the Jazz. Hailing from Adelaide and former high school running mate of current Sydney King Brad Newley. Recently signed a four year $US50 million dollar contract and will celebrate his 30th birthday October 2nd - the same day the Jazz play the Kings!

I love girls. I married one, have several daughters, and work with several women.
In the past the requisite Game Thread Photos have created some awkward moments.
