Mitchell, the next Damian Lillard but with defense

I kept telling everyone that Mitchell is a future All-Star. If he plays like this every night, he could be an All-Star this year. I don't expect him to play this well consistently throughout the year. But from the first time I saw him play, I thought this guy has the potential to not just be a star but a superstar.

I think we are all pretty excited about him. I think he's having the best summer of any rook since Deron. In the game tonight I kept wanting the team to give him the ball. Not because I wanted to give him experience, but because I wanted to win the game!

What? DWill wasn't even close to this in his rookie year.

I’ve heard him compared to Kobe, Lillard and D Wade tonight... by ESPN, SLTribune and JFC in that order. .

Cool, dude. Good job. :)

Well, I was p'o'd we didn't get Lillard -- basically because Corbin refused to tank. I think we might've been one pick away and probably could've traded up. KOC should've known better with Lillard playing college ball in Utah. But Corbin was trying to get into the playoffs to save his job. So the Jazz got swept by the Spurs and whiffed on getting Lillard. This time they hit a home run with Mitchell. Thank DL for that.

I don't really think Mitchell plays like a PG right now, and I don't think he'll really ever need to with his athleticism and wingspan. I mean I LOVE his game and am really impressed, but I want him running off screens, using curls to run PnR, and going iso as well. He can play some point for you if needed, but I would rather just have him focus on a general 2 guard game first. He was really electric tonight though. The only time I didn't like what he was doing was when they made him run the team. Once he was in there with Rubio as well he was able to really hurt the LAkers.

I can't remember being this excited about a young Jazz player. Even Rudy took a year until I really started thinking he could be great. He was so dominant tonight as well. Really fun game.

Dude what are you smoking ??

I'm surprised more people here are not as excited about Mitchell as I am -- I checked on the Internet and people who are just basketball fans, not Jazz fans are gushing about him after tonight -- this game was nationally televised, so that is the reason for the response. There were even some saying that he will be better than Gobert.

That sequence at the end of the game where Gobert blocks Ingram and Mitchell hits a clutch 3 is a sign of the future.

See 3:00.

Yes really. He can get up in space off 2 feet, but he has, and he has stated this himself, never dunked off 1 foot in a game.

How can you say he's a below the rim player when he can get way above the rim? If he can get that high off two feet, it's just a matter of coordination before he will be able to do it by a broad jump.

Not really, I saw him get his head even with the rim once during summer league. The guy has major hops.

With two feet. Not so much on one foot

After being let down by fes, I'll believe it when it happens
