What's new

Utah Jazz vs. Los Angeles Kuzmas - 8:30p MDT (ESPN)

It looks to me like Burks still doesn't have complete confidence in his game yet. He did make some good plays but he missed some open shots that he has to make if he is going to be a contributor this year.

Think he just missed some shots tonight. Obviously he needs to be able to make those kinds of looks to be effective out there. I think his ability to hit 3's will be really key to the offense on the second unit.

Man, I was so down after Exum's injury. I couldn't get excited about the Jazz at all.

I then I watched this game. Damn, I can't wait for the season to start. Mitchell is exciting to watch.

It's nice seeing DMitch and Rudy taking over games like this. Quite excited for the season. To heck with Scareward and his easy a** hell east all-star invites.

I know I am late to the party...

But Mitchell was sensational.

My question is, long term does Mitchell make Hood or Exum more expendable?

I still am not a big fan of Rubio tbh.

Too early to be asking that question, even if both Exum and Hood are re-signed. The answer might be neither, since all 3 could play together, theoretically.

I kinda get the feeling we're going to find out just how effective Hood will be at the starting 3. I don't think Quin is going to be able to keep Mitchell out of the starting lineup for more than a couple months.

Every team needs a long shooting wing. Hood can move to the 3 and move Ingles to the bench.

But here's the thing, Ingles is the better perimeter shooter. I mean, he is clearly the better open shooter. And with Rubio DM and Gobert out there, really you want your 3 to be making a ton of open looks.

I understand that Hood is probably the better overall shooter - can make tough shots and has a mid-range game.

Also, you are giving up some versatility on defense. How will Hood go against a bunch of the 3s?

I would make Hood my six man. He can average 15-16 points leading bench units and staggered first units. He can finish many nights too if he has the hot hand. Ingles on the second unit has slightly less value. Not as effective at leading an offense. Just my two bobs worth.

There are some things we lost with Hill leaving, but nice to see what we've gained with Rubio.

Really pushes those passes, and gets the ball ahead quickly. I think we'll adjust to him, and he will thrive here.
I was a negative nancy when we signed him, only because I was a Hill homer. I now am seeing the light.

Rubio is going to help everyone, and seeing him with Mitchell is a thrill.
