Utah Jazz vs. Los Angeles Kuzmas - 8:30p MDT (ESPN)

I'm 34 so I love when you get rookies like Caruso who look older than me. Got that Brian Cardinal thing going.

If Ingles looks like an alcoholic electrician (a quote gathered by Jazzavenues) then Caruso would be Ingles' mute brother whose job is to drag the building wire into the property and clean the jobsite when Ingles is done with the electrical work.

Kuzma has a really advanced feel and Ingram just doesn't at this point. He has a unique body, but he doesn't really seem to know how to use it.

I'm just going to say this once and hopefully no one notices. Cy effing nailed this... I'm not good at draft predictions and never claimed to be but Cy was all over this and I can't believe how quickly this kid is making people feel dumb.

Ingram must be frustrated too... he was supposed to be the rangey athletic combo forward. He's good but honestly I'd rather have Kuzma... and I liked Ingram.

Joe Ingles

I don't know if Joe can do that. He struggles with longer guys and I'd rather have him defending the perimeter... maybe though.

PF is an easy position to fill tbh... you can go the traditional route or get a big wing or a stretch guy... lots of ways to be effective.

I was sorta playin.

But I do think Q needs to try playing him at the 4 a little this year.

even a blind squirrel finds nuts every now-and-then. ;)

The two plays starting at :36 seconds are so badass. First DM navigates rush hour traffic, challenges a 7 footer at the hoop, takes the contact and still manages to make the basket. Next he stops on a dime off a sprint as he takes the pass at the three point line and like bottled lightning has a shot in the air for a long dagger two. You can't defend that.

He has incredible speed, explosiveness and balance. What's crazy is he won't need his shot to fall to dominate, he'll do it on both ends with his insane timing and athleticism.

I love the looks like game and that is spot on.

Also caruso is a guy I hate when we play his team but if he was on my team I'd be very excited about everything going on out there.

For sure... joe just looks like he'd break down doing that but he kind of just looks that way when he's playing basketball. Looks like me when I'm tired in pickup ball but he just keeps being effective.

I think having a power wing who could shoot and create a little would be ideal in the starting lineup at the four... Royce I'm looking at you.

DM makes me hard... no homo

Which begs the question who is going to be our starting PF next year. Scary to lose the production of DFAV, as rock solid as he is.

Rock solid? What kind of rock are you talking about? He has not been a rock or solid for two years. The little I saw of him last night makes it look like he is seriously diminished from his prime, no more lift or explosion. I suspect he has just prematurely aged or the injuries have done their damage.

Love the picture you painted.

Ingles has not had a good preseason.

Yeah Ingles hasn't shot it well at all.

Haven't read anything in this thread after these posts but I was saying the same thing last night, that if he didn't just get a new contract and I was just looking at his play during the preseason (not his name) I would think he's a player in danger of being cut.

He moved well last night (I thought). It should read Rock Solid... if healthy. I still think he can be as effective as he has in the past, but he still isn't ideal next to Rudy.

His jumper looks better this season and I think it is in part to his legs being back. He also made a really nice pass last night too... may not be the crazy athlete he was but he's still a force (when healthy) and I think some of the other parts of the game will make up for some of his slippage.

Morning after... and I am having a Mitchell hangover...

I can't wait to see Mitchell, Thabo, and Gobert shut down Tatum, Gaywarts, and KieKie. We are DEEP as a ever, Mitchell has made Haytwat forgettable in summer league and preseason by contributing in ways that no player in the history of the Jazz offseason have ever contributed! Period. Name me one player we have had who had a 30+ game with 8 steals, played 4th quarter minutes and had that impact, took a game over that both teams wanted to win, plays defense, and has that attitude!

Remember when I sent that email the night before the draft calling out my fav pick for the jazz? "Donavan Mitchell (PIPE DREAM - requires a trade. It worked for the Spurs)." Yeah, that one? Tee hee hee. Loving it! We have this guy for the next 7 years at least yo! Barring nuclear war with North Korea, will extend him or match him as a restricted FA at the VERY least. I need another DM hit, but I have to wait 7 days. Boooooo.

When he' healthy. Yes, he is an injury concern, and has missed too much time. When he's healthy on the court he is rock solid. His game overall is steady and will be missed if he goes.

I was too sleepy to pay close attention but what stood out....

Mitchell was the best player on the court.

Rubio wasn't impressive, two careless turnovers on inbounds plays if I remember. I hope he's ok with being our Jason Terry if he wants to stick around.. except Rubio isn't a great shot.

SloMo Joe lost some muscle weight now that his gym rat Hayward isn't around.

Feels good to beat the Lakers, what did yall think of Dfav? Looked younger moving around no?

I call BS. No one even heard of DM until Eenie Meenie discovered him.

Fairly sure DM love is embedded in all of our DNA. It has no beginning and no end. The love spreads like an exhilarating force anytime you watch him play basketball or conduct an interview or tweet out something pro Utah.
