Utah Jazz vs Toronto Raptors Tonight at 7pm MST 11/3/2017

Getting benched in a contract year is a confidence booster?

Good way to piss him off so that he considers taking the QO to become unrestricted in a year.

The only chance DM has of starting this year is if Hood could move to the 3 and Ingles moves to the bench.

Either that or Hood misses time with an injury, and Mitchell dominates to a degree you can't send him back to the bench.

The Jazz are a third-tier Western Conference team right now. We're about on par with the Grizzlies and Blazers. We'll probably make the playoffs and win a couple playoff games. However, I don't think we're good enough offensively to win a series, unless Mitchell, Hood and Rubio all go off consistently.

This is really a transition season, and we need to think about where we go from here, assuming Favors and Joe Johnson don't return next season.

Gobert isn't getting the space he needs to be most effective due to the fact that there isn't much meaningful movement in our offense. Guys are just too limited in terms of what they can do. Only Mitchell can create for himself without the offense grinding to a halt. Other guys can only score in a few limited situations. The offense is just a grind.

It would sure be helpful if the Jazz had a stretch shooter at the 4 like this. I'm pretty sure Markkanen was one of the 3 guys the Jazz liked in this last draft.

That is the first game the opposing teams bench outplayed ours pretty consistently. Outside of Mitchell our bench struggled.

Speaking of Mitchell who is the last rookie to win 6th man of the year?

Rough game but raptors are pretty good and they had hot shooting.

I'm also not sure why Favor's doesn't get more post plays. He easily scored twice in a row and then we never went back to it. Those are easy points when he is guarded by an undersized guy. Plus it gets him going.

Gobert played well but again isn't playing as hard and isn't putting a body on his guy on rebounds.

I started feeling bad for Hood. I haven't seen so many shots almost go down that don't.

Rubio had a rough game. He had some bad passes.

I love Mitchell's confidence and his ability to score. The rest of our team tends to be standing flat footed when he has the ball.

We have to get these ugly turnovers fixed. Hopefully it's just a timing thing and the team figuring out the offense better.

I wish we crashed the boards a little harder on offense. I know Snyder wants them to run back but we could be a really good offensive rebounding team. I swear there are a lot of shots that go to where our guys were but they run back early.

We had some real struggles last year around this time and we worked them out and got going. I expect that to happen again this year.

that play killed no one, quit playing the blame game mate.

It actually was the sequence that ultimately broke us totally.

We had a chance to run and cut their lead, but ingles had a brain fart and then the crap sequence leading to the rozen 3

Frustrating game. Every time we had a chance to turn the corner and gain momentum we either turned it over, missed an easy shot, or had a brain fart in defense. I thoroughly feel like we beat ourselves.

I feel like Hood's ceiling is a poor man's Marvin Williams. Not a bad player, just not the guy who can carry this team night in and night out.

This is why Hood needs to find a way to get to the free throw line so that he can contribute offensively when his shot is off. He's never really shown the ability to do that which is why it'll be tough for him to be a consistent #1 or 2 scorer.

Never going to happen... even when he has a layup he wants to shoot a jumper.

He's just a solid guy. Right now he is a bargain on his deal... at 15-20 M per season though he needs to be more. I might look around and see what I could get for him.

Hood has been trying really hard to do this, and that is why his game sucks. Trying to become Hayward has thrown him out of his comfort zone and his point production has suffered for it.

He's so bad at driving.
