Donald Fires FBI Director who's investigating Russian Election Hacking

That’s exactly the article I posted. I think it’s important to keep focused on what we’re debating — whether or not Obama took heat for that. I’d urge you to read the article. It quotes what happened, then the entire body of the article side-steps the actual issue. The title of the article doesn’t even contain the actual heat of the issue — that Obama was asking for space outside the public arena for political reasons and he had more latitude after his election because it’s “[his] last election.”

OK, yeah, you're right in suggesting I was really not paying attention to the content of the article at all. I basically had just decided to run the search Stoked had run, and was surprised to see a CNN article in the results and had decided to point that out. And then decided to point out to Joe that I really was not confusing CNS for CNN. And did the latter before I realized you had found that CNN article and posted it. So, my bad all around...

Using my iPad, I believe I ran the search query exactly as Stoked phrased it: "Obama/Putin open mic". A CNN piece was in 8th place, a CNS piece was in 9th piece.

This is the CNN piece that came up:

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.co...ssian-president-for-space-on-missile-defense/

Now, it's possible my iPad suffered from confirmation bias. Not trying to be sarcastic. I run searches for political news a lot, always use Google, and CNN comes up a lot. Whatever the cause, I guess I don't really know why my search would be the only one that returned a CNN result, and nobody else got that result. You did have me going, though. If I had mistaken CNS for CNN, I was prepared to apologize, but I just ran it again, and the above CNN article was in the 8th position.

I used google, not google news, since it happened a few years ago.
It's not surprising that Google returns results with a bias toward the searcher. I'm surprised I wouldn't get anything from CNN, though, because I use their site a lot. Regardless, I think this search has illustrated pretty much what I believed that it would. If anyone is aware of a mainstream media source that put heat on Obama for this moment I would love to see it. I've read several (CNN, Washington Post, NYT) which have all simply reported the facts with no comentary other than to note that Republican challengers seized on the quote. If anyone believes those media outlets would handle a Donald Trump quote similarly they are kidding themselves. Listen to the way that CNN's lead white house correspondent talks about Trump. This is not reporting. This is commentary, and very biased commentary at that:

I could take a screen shot of my search results if needed, or folks could take my word for it that it was 8th in the returned results....

Super weird. I ran the exact same search right now with Google (not Google news, so just like you), and no CNN article in the top 30 results (I stopped looking at 30). And the CNS article was in 8th place.

I remember when Edward R. Murrow decided to go biased when few others would. I've long thought it was one of the functions of the press to serve as democracy's watchdog. Murrow spoke out, destroyed Joe McCarthy as a result, and did our nation a favor. Of course, I have to accept I may be biased in these views...

Yeah, strange for sure. Well, google knows me well I guess, but really, I don't truly rely on CNN more then other sources. It's just that I am running searches all day, and mostly using google news actually, since it's current events I'm mostly interested in the past couple of years. But I just used google for that search....

FWIW, I broke down awhile ago and subscribed to the Washington Post. Google News was always putting their stuff at the top, and I did regard them, and The NY Times, as the best where investigative journalism was concerned. I waited till the Post offered a good deal, and subscribed. So really, CNN is way behind the Post as far as my usage is concerned. I was just guessing that the results were somehow tailored to me. I do look at CNN a lot, but other sites more.

Just yesterday, I was telling a friend that I'm sick of the liberal bias media I watch, which in my case is mostly MSNBC, I seldom watch the TV component of CNN, simply telling everybody how bad Trump is for the country. I want them to start acting as leaders of the revolution; to in fact more openly advocate for the removal of Trump as President. I would like to see millions of people march on Washington, each carrying signs saying "Just Resign", and I would like to see the media promoting it, advocating for it.

You're sick of getting exactly the type of biased information that you want to get? Are you saying that even the far left sites aren't slanted far enough for your tastes? I doubt you are going to care, but my impression is that you are feeling poisoned because you are willingly ingesting poisonous information.

As I suspected would be the case, since I seldom use the computer, running the same search on the computer turned up no CNN in the first 60 hits, and I quit after that.

My buddy Vladimir. Caution: CNN alert....

http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/11/polit...p-vladimir-putin-election-meddling/index.html

Da Nang, Vietnam (CNN)President Donald Trump suggested on Saturday he's done confronting Russian President Vladimir Putin over his country's election meddling since it's insulting to the Russian leader.

Trump said he took Putin at his word that Russia did not seek to interfere in the US presidential election last year, despite a finding from US intelligence agencies that it did. The fraught relations between the two leaders was underscored anew when Putin's spokesman said election meddling did not come up when they spoke, even though Trump said it did.

And he stressed that bigger issues persist between the United States and Russia that require the two leaders to move on.

"He said he didn't meddle. He said he didn't meddle. I asked him again. You can only ask so many times," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he flew from Da Nang to Hanoi in Vietnam. Trump spoke to Putin three times on the sidelines of summit here, where the Russia meddling issue arose.

"Every time he sees me, he says, 'I didn't do that,'" Trump said. "And I believe, I really believe, that when he tells me that, he means it."

"I think he is very insulted by it," Trump added......

.........Trump's acceptance of Putin's denial that Russia sought to sway the election in his favor runs counter to assessments by US intelligence agencies. While describing his relationship with Putin and the ongoing investigations into 2016 meddling, Trump seemed to indicate on Saturday that he trusts Putin's denials more than the comments of former intelligence officials, like former high-ranking intelligence officials James Comey, John Brennan and James Clapper.

"I mean, give me a break, they are political hacks," Trump said. "So you look at it, I mean, you have Brennan, you have Clapper and you have Comey. Comey is proven now to be a liar and he is proven now to be a leaker. So you look at that and you have President Putin very strongly, vehemently says he had nothing to do with them."......

It could not be clearer to me by now. Donald Trump is a traitor. The President of the United States is a ****ing traitor to his country.
This is as disgusting as it gets....

https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2017/11/trump-putin-russia-election/545651/

“Every time he sees me he says, ‘I didn’t do that,’ and I really believe that.”—Donald Trump on Vladimir Putin, en route to Hanoi, November 11, 2017.

So, to put it bluntly: At this point in the proceedings, there can be no innocent explanation for Donald Trump’s rejection of the truth about Russian meddling in last year’s elections. Earlier, it may have been suggested, sympathetically, that the case had not yet been proven. That Trump’s vanity blocked him from acknowledging embarrassing facts. Or—more hopefully—that he was inspired by some Kissingerian grand design for a diplomatic breakthrough. Or that he was lazy. Or stubborn. Or uninformed. Or something, anything, other than … complicit. Not anymore.

As yet, it remains unproven whether Trump himself was personally complicit in Putin’s attack on U.S. democracy as it happened during last year’s presidential campaign. What is becoming ever-more undeniable is Trump’s complicity in the attack after the fact—and his willingness to smash the intelligence and counter-intelligence agencies in order to protect Putin, Russia, and evidently himself. Consider what the president said to reporters on Saturday: “Then you hear it’s 17 agencies [who agree that Russia meddled in the elections], whoa, it’s three. And one is [former CIA Director John] Brennan, and one is whatever. I mean give me a break, they’re political hacks. … So you look at that and you have President Putin very strongly, vehemently says he had nothing to do with that.”

Trump came out attacking American intelligence agencies today on Veterans Day. He called our top 3 intelligence leaders “political hacks.” All while claiming that he trusts in a KGB colonel. That’s far more disrespectful than an athlete refusing to stand for the anthem.

How’s that MAGA thingie workin out?

Look at what is happening to the State Department for further evidence of this. If there is one US government agency Putin hates above all else it's the State Department, and the Trump administration is absolutely crippling it. A coincidence I'm sure...

Saw a tweet that got a ton of press and retweets. It was some guy talking about Trumps Asia trip and all the tension and what not. Basically the punch line was "lol we're all gonna die."

Pretty much

One of Trumps federal Judge nominees, who has never tried a case in front of a Judge and was ruled unqualified by the American Bar Association, apparently forgot to disclose that he is married to a senior White House lawyer who is also a witness in Mueller's investigation. He's up for a lifetime appointment. This is ****ing outrageous.

To clarify he's married to Ann Donaldson who is Don McGahn's chief of staff. Don McGahn oversees Trumps Judicial nominations. This is about as blatant a conflict of interest I can imagine.

Yup, should be dismissed from consideration immediately. This is the kind of stuff that gets washed out and ignored with all the Russiagate crap.
