Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Hamidou Diallo is looking like a late lottery pick. He's starting to shoot better and now is at 36% on 2 3-pt attempts per game. Otherwise, he's a mid-range volume scorer and slasher, with shades of a Demar DeRozan.

I'm a fan of Hamidou's. We could really use his athleticism and I think he'd be a fun project for the player development staff.

Wow. Crazy athleticism. He's gonna be a player.

Trae Young. dude is nuts. 32 and 10 tonight. not sure if its his scoring or passing that is most impressive. might be the best passer and scorer in the country.

just has a feel for when to take over. OU was in a battle tonight against a North Texas team that couldn't miss - but every time NT would get close Young would stretch it. Best show on TV these days.

Where do yall think he would fall on draft charts? I'm intrigued.

For the first time in a couple of years I'm looking into college prospects. I'm starting to believe in the middle of this draft... which is dope.

hard to say. it will be interesting to see what he does in conference play. things tend to tighten up there, the scouting is better, etc. the way he's playing though, i don't think you can let him slip past 10 or so. his size is an issue and as of now, he doesn't really defend- so those are a couple warts, but its hard to get away from the Curry comparison or a skinny 6'2" version of Harden because he's such a great passer/playmaker to go with the scoring (and uninterested defender, tbh)

If he continues to put up similar numbers over the course of the season with this efficiency, i might take him as high as 5.

There are more than a few guys from 10-20 that I like... which means we likely take the one I don’t like but i am encouraged.

Jaren Jackson seems like a tremendous defender. I don't think I've seen similar one recently. IMO he will be a DPOY candidate at some point during his NBA career. The defensive instincts and timing are off the charts + he has the size and length to translate it to higher level of competition.

Still not sure about his shooting. Looks so weird... but it goes in.

Just to state this in plain fact; the 2020's will be more talented than the 2010's. It's recently occurred to me that this is now becoming a safe bet.

Beyond a shadow of doubt I can tell you 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 will all be very strong, (and then 2024 would be the year of LeBrons son. the top ranked player on the west coast, top ranked canadian and the top guard from texas look to have major staying power imo too) and I just like my chances wiith the 6 years after that, there's also the Garuba brothers who I've read translated articles comparing them to the Gasol brothers, Usman won the U-16 Euro MVP (and his teams dominate every game) at 14... Real Madrid signed him at barely 11 years old..

It'll take a lot of time but eventually you will learn this to be true (yoda voice), it's logical anyways, as they say; competition breeds success.

for some quick specificity - this years senior class (2018) PG's are ****, and mostly diminutive/backup sized compared to all of those classes in the 20's listed previously. I can telly ou for sure, I've posted bout him before, that RJ Hampton is a rich mans Exum -- PKM will tell ya the same eventually too, or that in some form he's a superior prospect..

Utah's chances are much greater at winning the championship in the 2020's too.. obviously.. I actually think they'll win one. I wanted to make this just a broader post and not name names cuz I know y'all don't like that I gotta name drop quite possible the top prospect on the entire west coast, cuz I don't think he's been mentioned here yet. Check out this mix of the Consensus #1 player in 2020 6'3" Jalen Green. This kid got serious starpower... I mean just look at the last drive..

He is gonna measure out just like Anthony Davis, but he could be the Myles Turner of this draft.. He was obviously a lottery talent when he was still ranked in the 15-20 range, sorrta like a Brandon Ingram or Markelle Fultz.. used to say this kid pops had a multi year career and his son's talent level isn't even in the same stratosphere.
It was bizarre he was listed at 6'9" last year I'd turn on the Hs games and he'd look much taller and moving around so freely, he passes the eye test easy...

Don't worry about his shot, it's much easier to have some funky mechanics liek that when you're big and also able to get to spots quickly like Jackson, the release is high and it's actually pretty quick. I really would be shocked if he hits the league and teams mess with his release. He's confident with that release, La Lu would be running teams off the floor and all of a sudden he'd sprint to the corner and bang one quick, if he can do that it doesn't matter about the aesthetics.
