Central tank command : the official thread

I would really like Crowder or Portis, if either of those things are possible without losing any 1sts or key pieces. Need to figure out who is gonna be our 3&D 4. Jerebko has been a very nice piece so far but I don't think it's sustainable, and if it is, he's 30 already and we would be priced out given our window.

I like Jonas a lot... Mirotic would be a clear upgrade. I think Crowder's perceived trade value is likely higher than his on court value. I like him but he would cost a first for sure. Portis? who knows, but they have no reason to move him. He could play alongside Lauri and he is good. He's cost controlled and likely hurt his trade value with the punch. The locker room all seemed to support Bobby and he broke someone's face... I think they love him (or dislike Niko).

I think Thabo has been better than Crowder this year... Jae has been awful and Boston people seem to think he slipped a couple years ago.

I wish Thabo was 27 because honestly he'd be fantastic as the long-term big 3-d wing PF. Dude has been money from 3 this year.

Per twitter, multiple sources, Mitchell is a game time decision tonight.

Maybe last night was as much about rest as it was his toe? I don't think the coaches and staff would unnecessarily play him if hurt. I hope...
Does the history with Rudy coming back from every injury early and not looking right mean anything?

We don't need to tank, but we do need to trade players who are leaving in the summer. So what is the best deal for JoeJ and Favors? $23 million in expirings must be worth a ton.

Yes, but so does Neto, JJ and Hill the other way. They have extended periods out for things that should have been faster as far as we know. I think it is case by case.

I guess we will find out tonight what happens.

Only if you take bad money back... Which we really can't afford to do if we are bringing back Hood, Exum, and a couple of the team option guys.

Depends on the contracts that we would be taking back and the FO's plans for 2019 and beyond.

Correct. We will be in luxury tax if we send out 23M in expirings for 20M in next year salary if we re-sign Hood and Exum though. We don't have a ton of flexibility next year unless we move Hood or let him walk.

I figure he gets something starting around 18ish, Exum gets 5-7ish, adding 20M to that puts us over 130M unless we let Udoh/Jonas/Thabo walk.

Really just pointing out that we have to be prudent in taking on future money for expirings... unless other moves are coming.

Good night.

Sucks we won those recent Celts and OKC games. 13-23 would look sweet right about now.

Win or lose I am loving this season already. This season is all about developing Mitchell for me. He is to good for the team to truly tank. So go balls out and try to fight out as many wins as you can so that Mitchell learns how to win.

Once gain health hosed us. We should be watching the Mitchell and Exum show...

I’m not sure I completely buy the we’re too “good for the team to truly tank.”

We’ll see. The Cavs, Pels and then four on the road could be tough. Hoping we go 0-6 or 1-5 at best.

Mitchell will win the Jazz to many games against the weaker teams in the league to truly tank. If the Jazz go all in on the tank than they have to hold people out. That hurts Mitchell's development I think. Jazz also just got a ton of their hard games out of the way. For example. We don't see the Cavs or OKC at all anymore

The Cavs are our next game.
